  • Mini goal met!

I began Atkins on November 30th wearing a size 14 pants. I was afraid of the scale and did not want to face the number because I knew that if I did I would probably become obsessed with the number and start to weigh myself daily. At that time I made the choice to begin this way of life and judge my progress by how my clothing felt and most importantly how I felt.

Within a week my pants were feeling looser and I was no longer bloated and I was feeling other changes. I decided yesterday to buy a pair of pants that were a size 12 and brought them home. I was thrilled when they fit.

I did decide to step on the scale last week, it took me about 6 weeks of eating this way before I had the courage to finally face the number and the number was not as bad as I had envisioned. It literally had been years since I had been on a scale. I haven't lost any weight since last week but I am ok with that because I know once I pick up my exercise again things will go the way I want them to go.

    Whooo HOOOOOO!

Dr. Atkins said that the loss of inches was a better indicator of fat loss than the loss of pounds on a scale. So consider that size drop a HUGE accomplishment.

After all, no one will know how much you weigh unless you carry a sign that says "Hi, today I weigh _____ pounds." But they and you WILL see that you are a smaller person.

    Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

              Thanks for the encouragement!

I am finding OWL not that difficult. Sometimes I struggle with vegetables during the day because I am just not in the mood for them. I have tried a lot of new recipes so that is working out well. I recently had my family over for my mom's birthday and I made chicken parmesan. I made the traditional breaded chicken for the majority of my family and made a pan of it with "breaded" pork rinds, parmesan & some spices for me. I made my own sauce. It turned out wonderful.

Since I started this way of eating I have had Christmas, 4 birthdays & New Year's eve. I had one cookie over Christmas that was a brand new recipe that my mom made. I decided to taste it. I knew the risk I was taking but also know how I have determination when it comes to weight loss. It was a great cookie, I have to say but it did not set me back. I did not have cravings, I had it and moved on. Some may not agree but I know me.

My stepdaughter made my all time favorite chocolate cake and I was so proud of myself when I never once even craved it or wanted it. I was never was a huge sweet person anyhow but this was a cake that my mom always made for my birthday but I did great. for me!
