Re: I finally see the difference
hA HA, I put the scale away every other day. Yes I know, I have a problem and I am willing to admit it. All joking aside:
I'm obsessed with the numbers and I have a talk with myself everyday about it. It's going to be a hard habit to break and I am trying to wean myself off.
I am actually trying to get more comfortable with the WOL so I don't feel I need to post so much with all my anxiety and questions.
I have been feeling great today and feel very successful and strong. I remind myself everyday that the number does not matter as long as I feel I look great. It's going to take more time and I am slowly breaking myself of being a scale slave. I go up and down with my emotions on this weight loss journey and today is a euphoric feeling. In a week if I gain, I will probably be upset and try to figure out why. Crossing fingers that does not happen!
Thanks all

Another advantage to a journal!
You could search your posts ... I bet it's in here somewhere.

I thought you were putting the scale away?

Re: I finally see the difference
sounds like a good plan. If anybody offers more alcohol remind them you have the little one to take care off and that should keep them away from you with any tempting alcohol.
actually the seeds shouldn't effect you in a negative manner nor the veggies unless you excedded your personel CCLL. Many folk to their disatvantage discover they can cheat with a high carb food and not gain during induction. They don't realize that the reason was because they were eating so far below their CCLL that even with the high carb food they didn't exceed their personel limit.
However when they move further along in OWL their daily carb total plus the cheat food at some point will exceed their CCLL and they will be in trouble and assume ti was the healthy OWL foods and noit the cheat food.
You will be learning during OWL how high your Carb limit is and what foods if any cause you cravings, allergies, intolerances, and/or weight loss issues even if you are below your CCLL. That food learning will allow you to have many choices in your life as you progress closer and closer to goal weight and living maintenance Atkinseer life.
For example I can eat all but 5 foods from all the rungs that I have encountered and not have any cravings well make that 6 as yesterday's oat/flax/gluten bread was a craving and a half and will not be crossing my doorstep again.
Based on that I could chose higher carb foods from the higher rungs and be Atkins legal goalie, but as a carboholic I know I'd be on a carb binge with no end in site so i still pick the lower rungs for most of my carbs.
Test and keep testing with careful note taking as you learn all about what foods help and what foods harm Jaxmama as you advance along the OWL carb ladder.

Re: I finally see the difference
Georgiana...I ate a lot of veggies (probably 6-7 servings) but I snuck in some sunflower seeds too. I had a killer headche and nothing, not even water was doing anything for me, I was on the verge of a migraine. I thought maybe I was hungry.
But the scale dropped again slightly...maybe it's time to move to RUNG 3? The sad part is I don't remember when I started RUNG 2. I have lost track of that.
I know I may pay for the seeds but this morning I did not. I hope in a few days I don't, but will work through it. Lots of water, more cals and fat and strict count of my carbs.
Thanks for the replies, I am feeling much better today. I am glad I didn't resort to bad carbs, for the second time this week with stress.

Re: I finally see the difference
My plan for the wedding is to do the champagne toast but to load up on food before I go, it's a 3pm wedding. Since I don't like to eat a lot at night anyway I think I will be ok. I will have my daughter with me so I won't have time to eat. Although they are serving prime rib and I will eat that. I will give my daughter the cake (bad mom).
I think I will be ok, I got to 138.8 this morning and I don't want to blow this yet. I have too much focus and desire to lose that the wedding isn't going to stop me or detour me.

Re: I finally see the difference
Not that I had no days when I went a bit over my carbs in OWL... but it's better if you avoid that, at least until you know your CLL.Originally posted by JaxMama View PostIs it ok to do that once in a while?
There's also the risk of losing the appetite supression effect if you eat too many carbs.
If veggies is what you overate, then I wouldn't be too worried.I think I ate way too many veggies today too.

Re: I finally see the difference
Another family drama day....no retail therapy to fall back on. So I ate low carb foods and went over the 30 grams. I shouldn't feel too too bad since Sunday I only ate 20 grams. But I do Is it ok to do that once in a while? I think I ate way too many veggies today too.
Another obstacle this week....a wedding saturday.

Re: I finally see the difference
After I did some retail therapy my aunt met up with me and said she noticed the weight loss too. I didn't even tell her I had changed my eating habits. It was nice to hear from her she thought I had lost more than 8 lbs.
It's finally paying off! THANK YOU!!!!!!

What a great reward for your decision to go shopping instead of eating!! Changing room mirrors are not the kindest I have found so how great for them to show you that great improvement!!
