Even now, sometimes I can't stand chicken as it reminds me of the time when I was 7. Could me not eating enough meat in my childhood have caused my hypothyroid?

About cooking oil, it makes me feel bad. I just eat lots of butter.
My parents used to cook alot of fish! I hated fish for sooooooooo long, but now I absolutely love it!
    Please don't give up hun

Not eating meat (and not taking supplements) can produce multiple nutrient deficiencies -- minerals, B12, Vitamin D and zinc. Many people do not know that cholesterol is necessary for vitamin D and hormone production.

The good news is that Atkins is probably the most nutrient-dense diet out there. So even if you hit a plateau for a long time, things are bound to correct themselves. This would likely even happen faster with supplementation.

If you are feeling lousy while on Atkins, and are not cheating, it's possible that your body is detoxifying. Detoxification can be assisted through the consumption of a good B-complex vitamin, vitamin C, and a multimineral supplement. A good cod liver oil (not Nordic Naturals as it is too low in vitamin D) and herbs like milk thistle and dandelion can help protect the liver during the detoxification process.

I am not a big fan of multivitamins. I think our needs change, and multivitamins can contribute to vitamin toxicities and relative deficiencies. Dr. Atkins' Vitanutrient Solution is a good book to check out!

I know I almost gave up last month because my loss had stalled. It is still a little slow. My problem is that I am not hungry so I am not eating enough. Especially for the amount of exercise I do. I am slowly trying to increase my caloric intake and my inches have started to go down. My pants are a little looser now, the scale has not moved much because of my muscle building. Please don't give up, you are worth so much more than that. You owe it to yourself to figure out what is stalling you. If you don't like chicken, eat beef or pork. Try to substitute for your dislikes.
