So, when there is nothing in the fridge that looks really good, what is your "go - to" food? The food that always satisfies when nothing else sounds good?!

rung 6 - beans, hummus
rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...) Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range

Spinach.. It is completely versatile.. Sometimes I bake make a spinach ricotta pie, Sometimes I make it and add a little chicken and cheese, Sometimes I just eat it with butter and salt. but it fills me up and makes me feel satisfied.
Eggs. Because they are versatile and they go with almost anything (particularly veggies) I have in the fridge or in my pantry:
Omelettes
Frittatas
Soft boiled (I love these! Especially if the yolk is alittle runny and I put a drop of hot sauce or herbed butter in it!!!!!!)
SAvory custards/almost souffles
As "noodles" in an Asian-type egg drop soup.
Scrambled (the really creamy type of scrambled eggs with a bit of smoked salmon and sour cream.....................too good!)
Fried (with a "side dish" of a fried pork chop or a steak!)
Poached (as the protein on a frisee salad or what one diner here does---as a Chesapeake eggs benedict: poached egg on a BIG crab cake, covered with hollandaise sauce!)
The other thing I like to have in my freezer are frozen jumbo shrimp and crab legs (seafood is always good, imo.)
Hello, I just had one of these attacks not 5 minutes ago! I put a spoonful of cream cheese and just a small blob of peanut butter in the microwave together for 15 or 20 seconds, stir it up and pretend it's pudding. Actually, it works every time. Then I drink a shwack of water.

Scrambled eggs with butter and cream, and a few veggies on the side (usually pepper strips or slices of kohlrabi).
Half an avocado with lemon juice and pepper is good, too.

Some great choices - crisis averted for the moment. I don't have any peanut butter so I just went with cream cheese plain on a spoon... I like scrambled eggs loaded with all sort of stuff, but dh is on his way home soon and dinner awaits so I didn't want to make a meal but MAN sometimes it hits...

egg and bacon.... unimaginative, I know, but it always hits the spot.

Oh in a case like that, I eat cheese----a really decadent type of cheese like a good Brie or camembert or this really nice Basque cheese I found. Cream cheese is good too.
I imagine it is one of those times when you are not very hungry, but when you were not onatkins you would grab something to eat, beacsue you were bored and just passing by?
I get rid of those with a small piece of Parmesean Reggiano (sp?) cheese..............so yummy. The powerful taste and salty flavor take care of so many cravings. Cream Cheese and some splenda is for the sugar cravings.
If my body is telling me I absolutely have to have something, I eat celery or a piece of cheese. If my appetite is in the dumps and I know I need to eat something even though I am not feeling "hungry", that is when I cram it full of veggies, just veggies and a little dressing.
I am a scrambled egg girl too. Its my comfort food. A spoon of cream cheese is a close second and a lot faster when you don't want to fuss.

I am finding that celery is an easy go-to food. Sometimes I'll spread cream cheese on it and then sprinkle it with chili powder. I also like it with 100% peanut butter. Late at night when I don't want the calories, I'll have it plain.
