  • Day 6 : not losing PLZ HELP FAST!!!

    hey everyone, i've lurked around this board looking for inspiration for a long time now and finally decided to start this new wol on the 6th of march..i've followed it pretty good but not exactly right by the book...i absolutely hate veggies except corn and i don't know if i should eat corn as part of my 20 carbs a day...i think i need a new scale, one time i step on it and it says i'm down 3lbs so i'm like 'okay this wol really works' but then the next morning it says i'm back to starting point and that gets me down....i just want to know what could be stalling me to not lose ANY weight...i used to eat about close to 200-300 carbs a day, probably alot more not to sure, but all i know is if i open a bag of doritos and sit down, i wouldn't get up til it was empty....so even if i don't follow it exactly by the book but still eat 20 or less carbs a day shouldn't i still lose some weight even if those few carbs dont come from veggies???? i also walk about 20 mins every morning(not much but atleast i'm getting up and out before work) then i work all day, walk around the whole 5-6 hrs i'm there, can't remember when the last time I sat down was,lol, then i come home and do 10 pushups 10 situps some arm lifts and ride the inside bike for about 30 mins....i drink atleast 48oz of water a day usually but occasionaly i throw in a dt. sunkist or two(trying to break that habit cause i know it can be slowing e down...
    right now i'm eating skinless boneless southwestern chicken breast strips for supper with a little salt and pepper(would the s&p stall me that much to where i wouldn't lose any)the chicken is oscar mayer and it's fully cooked already and packaged, so it's an easy food to make fast which is why i love it... here are the nutrition facts

    also i've been eating about 1-2oz of cheddar cheese a day for a snack between lunch and supper....and just some pre-cooked bacon for breakfast(3 slices) supper is usually either cheeseburger (no bun) w/ tiny dab of ketchup or this great tasting chicken w/ tiny bit of s&p....
    plz let me know what of all this is slowing me down.....i'm a really pickey eater so this diet is kinda boring but i still believe in it and i'm starting to love the whole exercise thing....sorry for going on and on but i just want to stay with this and need some advice so i don't give up....thanks alot for all your help....

        Hello,
        Do you have DANDR 2002 and have you read it? It's important to have your own copy to get educated on Atkins, to do Atkins.
        Where are your vegetables? You should be getting most of your carb count from vegetables. 2 cups salad vegetables and one cup off the other veggie list. Or three cups salad veggies and no veggies off the other veggie list.You need to drink more water and leave the diet sodas alone. They will stall you big time!
        Ketchup has sugar in it. It's not allowed.
        For this way of eating to work, you've got to work the plan 100%. There's no half stepping. You get back what you put into it. You won't get the results you're supose to if you don't follow the plan exactly. If you don't then you're not really doing Atkins.
        Always read lables carefully for added sugars. It comes in many forms,
        sugar
        frutose
        sucrose
        corn sugar
        dextrose
        lactose
        maltose
        honey
        invert sugar
        concentrated fruit juice
        barly sugar
        malt extract
        MSG
        mollasses
        high fructose corn syrup
        Just to name a few. So please read food lables carefully.

          I think the biggest problems with not eating any veggies are the lack of fiber and nutrients. Your diet as you listed it is completely devoid of fiber. I'm not sure when or if corn can be consumed but I know it is not allowed on induction. Make sure you weigh yourself at the same time of the day if you must weigh yourself daily, remember that you are also exercising so the scale is not the only way to measure success did you take measurements before you started?

            corn is a starchy veggy so it is not allowed until rung 8 of the owl ladder.
            you wont be able to have corn for a very long time if you follow the plan correctly but you do need your veggies, thats just non-negotiable.
            I get that you say you dont like veggies and a lot of ppl on this board have said that before, by now they are all eating their veggies.
            you just have to try them, try what you dont know as long as its induction legal and try to prepare them in different ways.
            My bf for example absolutely hates green beans, broccoli and the likes but if I cook them so that their taste is covered (with bacon or so), he will eat them.
            you just have to make an effort.

            right now your menu looks very unhealthy to me and with the lack of fibre I wouldnt be surprised if you ran into digestive problems soon.
            Date to reach goal: I don't care, as long as it happens :P

              thanks so much for your help i'll try to include some veggies in there throuhout the day....if i eat taco salad(is that allowed..plain meat shredded cheese and lettuce) i can count that lettuce right???

                Right, always count ALL your veggies into your carb count. You're allowed 2 cups of salad veggies a day, salad veggie list(page 125 DANDR) and 1 cup of veggies from the other veggie list(page 126 DANDR).Do you have the, "Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 book"?
                It will make your life a whole lot easier.

                  hello again,
                  i do have the dandr '02 book and i've read most of it, the induction part i read and then a couple chapters after that so i'm ready to start fresh again....like i said i'm not big on veggies but i'll try to add a cup or two of lettuce and then eat some green beans and celery or something...that's about as far into veggies as i can get, will those 3 things help me stay on track better as far as fiber goes..?
                  i posted a new menu it's my plan for my next couple of days, hoping to lose about 10 lbs in the next 2 weeks, and I plan on staying on induction for about 2 months or so, is that too long???plz check out my new menu and see if it's healthier and if i'm set for success....thanks again....also how do i join some challenges on here ,just through the challenge board or how???thanks...
