    Re: My menu

sounds like you're not eating much, a womans body goes into starvation mode at 1200 calories and fewer. This means you'll store fat and burn your lean muscle mass. You should probably be eating at LEAST 1600 calories a day, and your menu doesn't sound like you are coming close.

Also, you should have breakfast other than coffee to boost your metabolism (i know imma hypocrite, i skip it a lot, but i do know the importance).

I don't know what glucides is so i can't comment on that.

Your dinner looks sparse. Now that I look at it again, you're not eating NEARLY enough at all!

In order for your body to burn optimum fat, it needs to know that you're getting plenty of food and that it doesn't need to store it. having 1 cup of salad for dinner is not adequate nutrition. hope that helps and that i don't sound too negative.

      Re: My menu

I agree with Carbless, not enough food and you definitely need to eat breakfast. I often don't feel like eating breakfast so I know how hard that can be but it really works in your favor because it gets your metabolism going and helps keep blood sugar stable. Have you tried the mock danish? I get sick of eggs for breakfast and sometimes will have a mock danish instead. Here is the recipe MOCK DANISH

I am not sure how much salad is in a mug? Is that like a coffee mug??? You need 2 cups of salad veggies a day plus 1 cup of other veggies or 3 cups salad veggies.

Are you avoiding eating cheese on purpose? You are allowed up to 4 oz of cheese daily and cheese makes a good snack. I certainly don't consider chewing gum a snack and depending on what its sweetened with (I am not familiar with glucides?) it may not even be allowed at all on Atkins. It also looks like you may be lacking some fat in your diet too which is very important on Atkins. Eat butter and olive oil and mayo and you should be set Good luck to you!

        Re: My menu

Thank you for your opinions. But I don't know what to do. First of all, my ENTIRE life I had just coffee in the morning. Even as a child, my mum used to give me a cup of cocoa milk in the morning and no breakfast at all. She never gave me a lunch box for school so I've always eaten my first meal when I returned from school, in the afternoon. As an adult, I do the same: just coffee in the morning and the first time of the day I eat is in late afternoon/evening. When I go to work, my first meal is at 6-7pm. And it's my last meal of the day, too. In weekends and hollydays, I eat twice: once at 2-3pm and once at 7-8pm.
About cheese now. Yes, I avoid it. I avoid cheese, creme, mushrooms because I suspect yeast.
And about the richness of my menu. I don't know what to do. That's how hungry I am, that's how much I eat. And I looove that salad. And it's full of chicken breast and mayonese. Should I start eating more than I'm hungry for? I'm puzzeled.

          Re: My menu

I don't think you need to eat more than you are hungry for, but Dr. Atkins did say not to go more than 6 waking hours without eating.

Now, about the breakfast thing, you have my complete understanding. I also just have 2 cups of coffee (no splenda though), and that is because since I was 13, I've taken medication (thyroid), which must be taken on an empty stomach. As long as caffeine doesn't cause you to have cravings, the coffee is ok. Bearing in mind that you have two servings of splenda with your coffee, it might be best not to use the chewing gum, as we are encouraged to limit splenda to two servings a day.

If you could take some hard boiled eggs and perhaps some green pepper slices about six hours after you awake, you could be Atkins compliant.
