  • GOAL!! 160+ lbs. lost, happy as a clam!

So it has been quite some time since I have posted, though I have trolled the boards from time to time. I once made a promise that I would post my goal pictures, and while it was a promise I figured I may never be able to keep... here I am!

My Atkins journey started years ago, and I found myself reaching out for support from those in a similar boat with like situations. I had a heck of a lot of desire (and an equal portion of excess weight), a small white and red paper back book written by some guy named Dr. Atkins, and very little idea of what to do with it all. That was when I found ADBB. The advice, support, kind words, and encouragement I found here were nothing short of amazing, and I know that part of the credit for my loss belongs to the members here, past and present.

I started my wayward journey at a staggering 330 lbs. I don't really know how long I sat at that weight, or when it reached that point, as I avoided any and all scales like a plague. Below is the only picture I have on hand of my starting weight, and it is of rather poor quality. I lost the original when my computer crashed a while back, so it is a picture of a picture. Do forgive me.

The image below is a progress picture. It was taken about 3 years ago while I was getting ready for my best buddies wedding. I believe I weighed in at about 200 lbs., give or take a few pounds. The picture of the cake below it is a blatant example of pride, as it is the wedding cake I made for them!

Again, this is a progress picture. I weighed in at approximately 190 lbs.

And finally, these pictures are my most recent, and I am overjoyed to say that I am finally at my goal weight of 168-170 lbs. I am saving up for an extended abdomnioplasty(sp?), which should bring me to rest at about 163-165 lbs. My new goal is to put on some muscle.... and I know NOTHING about weight training. I can do cardio like a beast though!

I went from wearing a size 48-50 pair of pants with an elastic waist, to size 32 Diesel jeans. My shirt size went from XXXL to medium or large, depending on the shirt (I am rather barrel chested, so it is hard to find shirts that fit well).

So there you have it. The new Tom... years in the making. Happier than ever, and glad to be alive.
