This has really been picking my brain I remeber when I was 21 no kids I could lose weight like the wind now. I have 3 I'm 29 and it's soo hard I work sooo hard to lose the weight I have and I'm so strick I wasn't even strict before. Why the change is it hormonal is it age what the heck. I am guessing it's hormonal it's kind of a piss off. I have so many stalls now and my weight loss is so inconsistant. I am running now for 1 hour straight hopignt hat I'll lsoe some more pounds but, my body keeps holding on. WHat the heck how can I get my body to release this fat and just let me lose. It's a conspiracy. LOL I'm not mad or anthing it would be nice to have answers though I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I had my first and only at age 29, and by the methods I use to use ie; starvation, it was never a problem for me (well it wouldn't be would it?).
However, I think that it gets more difficult to lose weight when you get over 30 and your coming up to that magic age. Also look at the ladies in your family - did they gain after kids? I know mine did.
But - I'm the classic case in point - I have the family pattern of weight gain after kids and middle age spread. I'm 42 and this is the only diet which has worked for me, the difference is it just comes off more slowly. But if it comes off more slowly - the way I see it - it stays off.
Stick with it - you'll lose it - if I can anyone can :hug

yeah you're definately not the only one lol. i think after kids your hormones change and your thyroid probably works differently. i'm only 23 and i have two kids. I had my first at 19 and prior to that i ate whatever i want all the time and weighed 115 lbs. i couldn't gain weight if i tried! but now for the last almost two years i've been very slowly struggling to lose the 60 or so lbs i gained with my pregnancies. Before i started atkins in october last years i did low cal and excercise and couldn't lose an ounce! so even though weight loss is slower now after kids atleast i know atkins is something that works for me. slowly but surely WE WILL BE THIN AGAIN!!!!

Our metabolisms start slowing down when we reach 30. So, it might not be due to your pregnancies at all, but due to your age.

I feel your pain, girl!!! Pre-babies, I had a nice flat tummy (my pride), then I gained and gained and gained, then had babies and gained. Now my tummy is my worst spot. It is out of proportion with my hips and it is totally due to pregnancy.
Just keep plugging away, I know it is tough, and I know you have medical issues that are battling you. We are in your corner, dear! I know you will lose again. Just remember that you are burning fat, and only fat! Eventually, your body has to burn that darn body fat away!!!

I also agree. My whole life I was a bit chubby, then at 20 I finally reached 110LBS! I got married then pregnant right away and went up to my highest of 180...boo hoo...Now it is so hard to lose..especially on those hips and tummy!!! I tried looking up workouts to kill my hip area but I read there is no such thing as spot burning. When you workout a "certain spot" you are not just burning there but also from all over your body. Another thing I learned is, the first place you gained the weight is always the last to go...how sad huh?!

You can't spot reduce, but by doing a variety of exercises, as you lose the fat, those pudgy areas will firm up a lot faster! Fat and pudgy, or thin and flabby - either way is unattractive. :nodOriginally posted by SirineI tried looking up workouts to kill my hip area but I read there is no such thing as spot burning.
