Hey guys...
I know how adhering to a low-carb diet has been shown to clear up many skin and hair related problems.
I started getting alopecia barbae around february...for those who don't know, its a condition where you get patches of skin where hair stops growing. Mine are on my beard area. It started as one small circle, which become one bigger patch, which became two big patches on both sides of my face. Noone knows how to cure it, they only know it is an immune reaction that occurs somehow and your body thinks your hair is a foreign organism and so attacks it.
I was strictly atkins all last year, but x-mas messed me up and i basically pigged out from x-man till march. i've been only on and off atkins since may, and never steadily. do you think this condition can be somehow related to my going back to carbs? has anyone heard or had personal experiences where avoiding carbs helped with alopecia???
i am really concerned that it doesn't seem to be slowing down and the patches are just growing slowly.
