I saw a precis of this iteresting (but very technical) article (link below) in my newspaper at the weekend. Basically it is saying that diets high in protein trigger glucose production in the small intestine. This in turn makes the liver send a message to the brain saying it is nit hungry any more, and voila!, you're not.
This certainly seesm to be true for me, as I am eating lots of meat and don't have hunger pains since I cut out the carbs with Atkins. My Mum is trying it to lose weight and told me she was still hungry and lethargic. Turned out she was eating mostly veges and littel protein. Since she is havinf more meat /fish /chicken te hunger and lethargy have disappeared.
What are others experiences?
