Hey, I always say that real woman have curves! Good for you for smiling at them instead of yelling. Diet Rite has a lot of flavors. I haven't touched it yet on my induction, but I do have it in stock here. I like the orange and the black cherry the most. Oh, and good sneaking with the coffee. lol

Good for you! Absolutely the right reaction... especially as they must've realised you heard them. It'll have made 'em feel soooo ashamed. And if you stick to this WOE, in no time you'll be hearing them say: "Who's that cool, slim chick on the bike?"

What??!!!? Where were you? In the middle of a store? The sidewalk? Oh, a gym??!!! Well, what the.....is that the domain of skinny people only??? I am stunned. We have some very cute girls at my gym. But for the most part there are quite a few, um, curvaceous ones. Some are bigger than me, some are smaller than me. We are all there to get fit and healthy. What kind of attitude is that?? Where are they? I'll go smack 'em for ya. Argghh!!!

But good for you in showing some restraint.

Wow, that really sucks that people are so mean (esp. when you are OBVIOUSLY doing something about it). KUDOS to you for your great attitude! Don't let mean spirited people like that get you down!

G, I'll repeat what's already been said, and say good for you for not stooping to their level. It's not always easy, but brava for you for doing it! When something like that happens to me, I say a little prayer -- "Thank you Lord, that I'm not like that. How truly unhappy that person must be!"

Hey, you're already down 11 pounds, and you just joined us on the 5th. WAY TO GO!!

                          Re: Patience....

You know, I've often wondered what it is that makes people think that blatant rudeness is acceptable in society. As a teacher and researcher of human behavior, I've learned that people who aggress towards others in this manner often have psychological problems that they are dealing with, and really should just be pitied and ignored, just as you did. Now don't get me wrong, people with psychological problems do need attention, but from professionals who can get to the bottom of their sick need to make others feel bad in order to make themselves feel better. What you did in that situation was brave and intelligent, and I really admire you for it!!

I've been in a similar situation a couple of times over the past few months, and while I felt really horrible, these rude people actually propelled me to do something about my problem. Just to share, my first rude experience was a clerk at Walgreen's who asked me if I was pregnant and when I stood shocked and shook my head, she then said "Well you look it"! I was devastated! Then, about 3 weeks later, I was checking out at the Gap and the girl asked me when I was due! Aghhh! It was so awful, but in both of those situations I was just so hurt that I couldn't say anything back. But it did get me wondering, what gives these people the courage to say something like that to a woman in a store? I mean, I would never!! Anyway, my point is that there are always going to be ignorant, rude, socially inept people out there who say things to hurt us (whether they mean to or not) but as long as we act with grace and class towards them like you did, we'll always come out the better person and we'll be thankful that we didn't blow up. And let me tell you, this is coming from a girl who highly enjoys verbal sparring and could probably say things to those clerks that would put them under the table in tears!!

                              Re: Patience....

I'm so proud of you for holding your head high and killing them with kindness. It's very hard to do sometimes. As someone said earlier, some people just have to say mean things to make themselves feel better. My daughter is having some trouble dealing with that. She's 12 and we're trying to teach her to ignore the mean people because they aren't worth her time. They are just trying to impress their stupid friends. She's getting much better and doesn't let it get to her near as much. People can be so cruel. It's ridiculous!

I like the tangerine diet rite. It's yummy! The only others readily available where I go are diet cola and white grape. I can't stand the cola. The white grape is ok, but dangit WHY can't someone make a diet regular grape??? I love grape soda, but the white grape just isn't the same.

Good for you on switching the coffee. I personally can't tell a difference between caf and decaf drinks. It's never really affected me either way.
