  • Now we're a husband and wife team!

Guess what? My husband decided to do Atkins with me and today is his first day on Induction!

I am so proud of him. He says what is winning him over is hearing all the stories of people whose cholesterol and triglycerides improved. My husband had pancreatitis last year (and was hospitalized for 3 days) due to unbelievably sky-high cholesterol and triglycerides. Now he is dependent on not one, but TWO cholesterol medications for LIFE. He is only 32.

Atkins has given him hope that he can get well and free himself from some, if not all, of the pills he takes every day.

He's reading this board, so if you want, give him a little "Atkins motivational shout out".

Since your husband has existing medical issues, I'd encourage you both to go in and talk to your doctor and get a panel of blood tests as advised in DANDR.
Then you've got something to compare to as the months go by and you know whether this is making a change for the good, especially for your husband.

Same here, my dh and I started this together. He only had 30 lbs to lose, which he did relatively quickly. He also had stomach problems, and allergies, which have disappeared now. He still follows a low carb regime, as that is the way I cook and eat. He is very supportive, and it is great having a partner sharing in the challenges, and of course great successes and results!!!!

FANTASTIC! It's great when two of you do Atkins together. I'm sure your husband's lipid profile will improve dramatically in a short while.

Looking forward to hearing how you both get along!
