What do you guys do about feeling cold?

I find I feel cold a lot of the time since I started Atkins.

Please dont tell me to exercise more...I'll die if I spend longer than three hours a day exercising!

Hmmm, I would see if you are low on Iron. I am anemic and I am ALWAYS cold. Although, Atkins has helped this for me, slightly

I find that with 50 pounds less of insulation I am much more susceptible to cold than I have ever been in my entire life. I can't imagine what my 118 pound bf must feel like!!

        Re: cold?

I find I am a lot colder too not so much insulation I suppose, I am also Hypothyroid and I find since I got that I am more cold even know it's controlled with meds I still feel it. I just have a sweater I wear all the time Basically unless I am exercising. I actually find right after I exercise I am freezing I dunno why I get covered in goospimples and have to bundle up for about 1 hour after then I am ok.

          Re: cold?

Definitely colder here too .. You could have your thyroid checked .. if its too low, you can feel colder than normal. Otherwise, its prolly just less insulation!

            Re: cold?

Hmmm I had all of that stuff checked not long ago and it was all fine...I was wondering if carbs make you feel warmer....might just be my body complaining that it has to go running weight lifting etc.

Guess I better keep running in my old cardigan and coat

Hope you warm up, I have heard of other complain about being cold so it might be something to investigate. In the mean time, warm up with some cocoa

                Re: cold?

I get cold, too. Sometimes it feels like my bones are cold (I know that sounds crazy) and that is how I felt when I was preggers, and had to take Iron pills. You can't be low in Iron on Atkins, can you??
What would we do without it?

                    Re: cold?

I have low thyroid and get cold easily ( even though I live in the desert). I bought an electric blanket, and it's nice just to sit here typing with it wrapped around me.

                      Another cold person
My family says it's because I don't have the insulation
There could be something to be said for the carbs creating warmth, though

                        Re: cold?

I never used to feel the cold BA (before Atkins) - in fact I never wore long-sleeved shirts even in winter.

Now with 140 pounds less of 'insulation' I often feel cold and so I just put another woolly jumper on!! Actually for sitting at the keyboard I often wear a 'fleece' blanket which I have cut a neckhole in to make into a poncho that keeps all the draughts out!

If asked to make a choice of being back at 280+ pounds and warm or being 140 pounds and having to wrap up to keep warm I know which I would choose!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I always get cold when my metabolism is firing up. I can just about tell which days I am going to come down a pound or two just because I get cold on those days.

BINGO. the human body is more efficient at burning fats for fuel then carbohydrats so less of the potential energy in the gram of fat is lost as waste heat.
