    Okay, I thought about posting this in the vita nutrients forum, but I wanted newbies to see this. I know as a newbie I never wandered in there.

    ***Ahem...(clears her throat as she steps onto the soapbox...)***

    Lemme start by saying...It is sooooo important to take your vitamins. I started Atkins with all the vitamins, and I took them religiously. I FELT great, and the weight was falling offa me.

    Well, somewhere along the way, I have to admit, I stopped taking them. I started to get more and more sluggish as the day progressed, and I could not figure out why. My weight started to "stall" a little bit and I could not figure out why.

    I just started taking them again and alas, my weight is moving again, and I have my energy back. My skin is glowing and I FEEL great again.

    If you are not getting in all of your vitamins, you could be slowing yourself down and making your body function without all the proper tools. We all want to be healthy, and thin, we cannot expect our bodies to work at optimim proformance w/out them. We are all working sooo hard for this. Let's give our bodies what it needs to do it's job, while we do ours.

    So, if you are not taking vitamins right now, I dare you to get off your keyster and take them right now. Yes they stink, yes they are kinda big, but they are sooo worth it. You are worth it.

                So I kind of glazed over that chapter of the book. I am taking One-A-Day Men's Health Formula multi-vitamin. It says take one tablet daily with food. I'm taking 2-4 daily. Is this okay or do i need to invest a fortune in 20 bottles a day?

                  I am taking 3 multi's a day plus a super antioxidant. I just make sure my pill case goes with me everywhere so no matter where I'm at I can take them.

                    I don't care how fun-loving and optimistic someone is - taking vitamins is just not a blast. LOL It is a bit of a chore, but I make myself do it anyway!

                    For about a month, I am going to incorporate the CLA/GLA combo I keep hearing raves about & see if there are any improvements!

                      Sheila, you are absolutely right, it is a chore! LOL BUt it's a good kinda chore though, I guess. KInda like cleaning the kitchen. It's not fun, but it's gotta get done! *LOL

                        could someone list the exact vitamins Dr. A suggests daily? i loaned my book to my dad! and what is cla/gla?

                          > twice daily: 1 cayenne capsule and 1 garlic capsule (building this up, see below); 1 echinacea (good blood cleansing tonic)
                          Magnesium and calcium tablets on order

                          I read about the cayenne in a book about a man who said he cured his heart problems with it - he had an unsuccessfiul triple bypass and the doctor told him to go home and make a will! A herbalist told him to take cayenne pepper. He said it cured his heart and cholesterol problems and he's now been well for 16 years. I read up on cayenne (capsaicin) (http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/cayenne.htm; http://www.umm.edu/altmed/ConsHerbs/Cayennech.html) and it is supposed to benefit your heart and health - it cleans the blood vessels of deposits.
                          I have noticed that since I started taking 2 a day (very weak ones, I have a bad indigestion type reaction to boh cayenne and garlic so am building up slowly to stronger dose) my blood pressure has dropped from the low 120s over low 80s down to 110 over mid 70s.
