    Re: Back after accident

I'm so happy you made it through that horrible ordeal. I guess when I don't read a post from someone in a few days, I figure that their lives have picked up since losing weight and getting more energy. I used to be a couch potato and now since I've lost weight and gained confidence...I can barely find time to sit still. Welcome back and whew, don't do that again!!!

How scary Odille. I'm so glad you made it through with only minor injuries, it sounds as though it could have been a very different outcome. I am sorry about poor Gertie. Let's hope the nice insurance company gives you enough for something nice. What will you call the next one?

glad you are felling okay and back to walking.

you can do some upper body weight lifting using your body if you aren't injured. do some chair pushups aand you will be lifting your own weight. if chair pushups are too easy hold your legs out front and do them. if they are too hard do wall pushaways and move your feet back as they get eaisier.
Squats, calf raises, toe raises, will use your body weight too for your legs in the mean time. hope you get your transportation fixed soon.

                        Re: Back after accident

Thanks for all the commiserations. Getting on OK. My thumb is still stiff and sore, and the deep tissue bruising is worrying (I'm going to try and get some ultrasound to break itup). Good news is the insuranceassessor rang me and has made a very fair offer. I paid $8000 for the car 3 years ago and had pout 100,000 kms on it (60,000 miles). He offered $6,500, which I naturally accepted very quickly. Should get a cheque in due course. I fel very discombobulated without my wheels! How dependent we are on our vehicles, especially as public transport is one bus every 2 hours from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm!
