Howdy folks! I've been at the low-carb lifestyle for nearly a year now. Since the boards have changed a bit and I've moved around a bit, I haven't checked in for a while.
Yes, like most others who are successful with LC / Atkins, I have dropped a bunch of weight. I have stablized around 205 pounds, started at 260 last year. I still avoid bread, eat tiny amounts of whole grains, and I still excercise.
I've been allowing more beer (I love beer, particularly Amstel Light) into my diet, as well as more sweet treats (Splenda and SA-based, obviously), particularly low-carb cheesecake (mmmmm).
I haven't really gone to town on before-and-after pics, but I can say that I look pretty amazing these days. No more paunch, no more double-chin, and I actually (for the first time in my life) did a CHIN-UP last week, completely unassisted! Amazing!
I followed the Atkins plan pretty strictly in the first few weeks of going on this diet. Now I'm basically following a customized plan - I don't count calories or carbs, and its now a habit for me.
However, even though people tell me I have no need to lose any more weight, I still haven't reached my "BMI-compliant" goal of 200 pounds yet. I've been very close, but haven't hit it yet. Don't know if I want to, but it's hard to ignore the BMI issue. Anyways. Hope you're all well and sticking to plan!
