  • Strange tale

Today I brought some Cape gooseberries.

I opened the pack and ate about 9 berries. (About 20 or so for 100g ish) and 10 ish grams of carbs per 100g.

That should have been about 5 carbs.

Its glcymic index is only 15.

So (and here's the spooky bit...dodooodooodooo twilight zone music plays... )

I felt like I had lifted off the face of the planet from the sugar rush!

Wooah! I really am so NOT going near cape berries for awhile!

    You have been warned...

Nothing strange about that at all. When I moved into the berry rung of OWL, I had my first strawberry in almost a year. It was almost too sweet to eat. Same thing happened when I moved to the "other fruit" rung and had a peach---incredibly sweet for me.

If you've successfully killed your sweet tooth, you'll be able to taste added sugar in many foods. You'll also be able to taste the natural sweetness in many vegetables too.

When I fell off last year, I stupidly went all out and had a piece of cake with thick frosting and all. I kid you not, I basically got high off of it - it felt like the rush I used to get when I'd drink a load of caffeine.

I DO NOT reccomend this method of getting high to anyone

I have a very ugly story about corn chips. Real fried corn chips from a great Mexican place. They tasted like cookies, the corn was so sweet. I had ... well, let's just say too many. I felt so wired I couldn't sit still. Further, I had the feeling that I was swelling at the table. I felt like Harry Potter's Aunt in the movie.

I don't think we're sensitive to it. I think everyone else has been dulled out.
