Re: How do you plan to celebrate when you reach your goal weight?

I don't think binging is a way to celebrate either! Never! But, <scratching my head> I thought that's what the person who started this thread said they were going to do.

I don't have any celebration plans as of yet. I pray living in that body will be enough.

Jerzaka-- I hear you. I have binged just once since starting the plan, and that was my result. I did no where near the extent that nomatter is speaking off. But sugar overl load for sure.

I paid dearly, it was a true warning to me not to do that again...

Oh, DOH! now I get it! (...blond moment)That's a good point. Besides sabotaging part or all of your hard-earned losses, a binge would most likely leave you feeling bloated, sick, gassy, and generally lousy for days.

Re: How do you plan to celebrate when you reach your goal weight?

I only did it once. Eons ago. I was probably in my late 20's - early 30's?. (I'm 39 now) anyway, I did it at the urging of a "friend" who told me my diet, (they'd never heard of Atkins) was going to kill me. Anyway, I ate a greasy, Philadelphia cheese-steak, loaded with fried onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a fresh baked roll in Jersey. (South Jersey is famous for their sub rolls) Oh and, lets not forget the large side of fries. (As if this wouldn't inevitably kill me)

Ten minutes later, I could hardly make it back to the car and home. Going up the steps was excruciating! The cramping was worse than labor! I was so sick. Explosively sick! Got the picture?

Anyway, that cured me. And, that wasn't even what I would call a "binge". LOL

PS - Not only that, but I gained 5 lbs that day! No one believed that, but I did!

I'll be the exception. My stomach can handle nails, I tell you. And I've since revised my 'reward'. It'll be two bovarian cream donuts in the morning, pepperoni pizza for lunch and Burger King for dinner(with buns) and tuxedo mousse cake for dessert. You can place bets on how well I'll handle it, though, and I'd be glad to provide a full report the following day. Perhaps I'll learn some nasty lesson of it all and be a perfect example of what NOT to do after 3 months or doing Atkins. Then again, I might just enjoy myself.

Started Atkins 5/7/06 - before and afters to come when I hit 240!

Since n0matter has volunteered to use himself as a human guinea pig, so be it.

I don't see why a pepperoni pizza would be a Maintenance phase "reward" because on OWL and Pre-Maintenance, pizzas are within the "legal" food list.

And I haven't even thought about being able to do that in YEARS! Yes, I have been walking, biking, video exercising, weights, etc. But TENNIS. That was a treat! So, yeah. Celebrations can involve exercise and be a total thrill! What motivates one - does not necessarily motivate another.
I totally agree with you there, Barb, and it's another great point... my karate lessons fit in there as well because I feel as though I need to be visibly fit, "healthy weight," to show my commitment to my body before I commit to karate... it would show my teacher that I have commitment and give me extra confidence to start what can be a rigorous and life-changing sport.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.
