I just heard back from my doctor regarding recent bloodwork.
After 5 years of eating luxuriously satisfying fat, here's the skinny!
HDL (the good cholesterol) = 103 (should be >35)
LDL (the bad cholesterol) = 88 (should be <100)
Triglycerides = 101 (should be less than 150)
Cholesterol ratio (LDL divided by HDL) = .85 (anything less than 3.3 is considered LOW RISK FOR CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE!)
I just broke it to DH that I should live to be 120 !!
Hail to Dr. Atkins (the cardiologist) whose high fat plan has raised my HDL from 75 to 103, and has lowered my LDL from 177 to 88 in 5 YEARS ...
Wow, I think I'll have me a big honkin' ribeye for dinner tonight!
