  • A terrible confession

I started Atkins on 2/12 and had an amazing two weeks, 15lbs gone! ...BUT on day 16 we had closing on our house and afterwards had a little "celebration" lunch at Cracker Barrel. It started off good enough, I ordered the turkey chef salad, but ended up having several bites of my hubby's meal and well, his meal was NOT Atkins friendly.

From that point everything kind of took a downward spiral. Next came the Dairy Queen ice cream cups, glass after glass of 4C's green tea (loaded with sugar)..oh my, the list goes on and on. And to make a long story short, here it is 3/10 and my scale is now showing 210

Sooo..my next plan of attack is to REstart on Mon. the 12th. I've signed up for the one day exercise challenge, 20 nonstop min. of walking on the treadmill...and I'm going to check out the recipe thread and make a big grocery list and getting my food shopping done later today...I'm really getting tired of eggs and bacon for breakfast But my question is this...should I restart with the Induction phase? Or should I restart on Owl Rung 1? It seems that since I had such a huge weight increase in such a short period of time I guess I should start with Induction, but I just want to make sure. Also, another thing I was really starting to have problems with at the end of Induction was drinking my water, it got to the point where I had to practically choke it down. Can I add a slice of lemon or lime, just to make it a little more interesting? Thank you all for any help you can give and please feel free to slap me with a wet noodle for being such a bad girl ....On second thought, wet noodles have too many carbs!

I will slap you with some limp celery you forgot to eat!
Ok now that that is over. I do induction for 3 days to get back in Ketosis then right back to where you left off in OWL.
If a slice of lemon or lime helps go for it but if you are squeezing it you are limited in how much (Sorry DANDR is in a box somewhere). Its in the special food group

Dont stress girl! just go back to induction for a few days to get you back into Ketosis . Yes you can have a slice of lemon or lime in your water - you are allowed one tablespoon of lemon or lime juice a day ( counth the carbs!) to make the water a bit easier to handle - try chilling it or adding ice blocks. Keep a glass or sipper bottle with you all the time and just sip at it regularly. Try water in nice crystal wine glasses to dress it up ..works for me! I drink a lot of mineral water -- very refreshing and just a bit more interesting than still water. Soda water is good too. beware of tonic water --- lots o carbs in that! hope this helps a little

Cheers ( drinking toast to your success with a big glass of Bubbly ....water that is!!)

Thanks ladies! I won't be squeezing the lemon or limes, just kind of let them float around and I like your idea Donna of putting my water in a fancy glass with some ice cubes. I had been drinking my water in these big ugly orange plastic cups and I'm sure that didn't help with making the water more appealing for me. I'm going to hop back into Induction for a few days and take it from there!

Don't look back. You can't change what happened...restart your WOE with the very next meal! Ask yourself why it happened, what could you have done or said that could have prevented it? The biggest part of this journey is to educate yourself about how foods make you feel and react. Make solutions to solve future problems. Making new habits and being prepared will make you successful! You can do it.

              Re: A terrible confession

Just a note gals about water. I love water but once in a while I want a little something different especially at work. I found a product called True lemon, Crystallized Lemon. It comes in little single serve packets of crystals (about 2 x 1" packet I believe) that you can add to your water. I keep a few in my desk at work. 1 packet has 0 calories, 0 sodium, less than 1 carb and 0 protein and 25 % of your daily vitamin C. It is made up of Citric Acid, Lactose, Lemon Juice, Lemon Oil, Maltodextin and ascorbic Acid (vitamin c).

I like using 1 packet in a bottle of water with no sweetner but sometimes I put 2 if i want a stronger lemon taste. Today I saw that they also have this in lime. You could mix 2 and have a lemon-lime flavor!

Oh...because this has less than 1 carb, I still count it as 1 and only have 1 or 2 at the most each day. I would think it would be less carbs than a squeeze of a real lemon...but I dont know...but it IS convenient to just toss in your purse!

              Good luck everone!
