  • Cheesecake Factory low carb cheesecake?

I am meeting a friend this weekend who is from out of town and she LOVES Cheesecake Factory and doesn't have one near her, so I agreed to eat there. Looking at their menu they have several salads that look ok minus an ingredient or two and some chicken breast entrees that would be fine minus the carby sides. I would be happy with a salad and a slice of their low carb cheesecake. However, I'm very skeptical as they claim 6 carbs for a cheesecake made with a walnut GRAHAM crust. Also, they list the counts as 2 for the whipped cream, and 3 for the strawberries. So that leaves 1 carb for the graham in the crust, walnuts and the cheese??? I think not my friend

So would you chance it? It's made with Splenda also....I'd get it minus the whipped cream and strawberries anyway but I just wanted to see if anyone here has had it and is it ok? Cause cravings or issues?

I enjoy the cheesecake on occasion. It is 6 carbs after sugar alcohols are subtracted, and does not include the whipped cream or berries. I order mine without the additions and have never had it affect my blood sugar adversely. Also, the sugar alcohols, whatever they are in addition to Splenda, don't upset my tummy either. One thing to note, though, if you're watching calories: one slice contains 600 of them.

Yes, good information to know! I would like to try the cheesecake for those special occasions. I hear Ruby Tuesday has a low carb cheesecake as well, never tried it though.

WOO HOO! Thanks guys! I'm not worried about calories. I do keep track of them mostly because I tend to go toward the low side, my appetite is very under control now....so I need to make sure I have ENOUGH. So I will get some sort of salad there and the cheesecake and enjoy it.

Any recommendations for an entree? Last time I went I had pasta - and well, we know that's out LOL!

stick with a salad...that's about the only thing that doesn't have some sort of sauce all over it. The cake is good...but it causes cravings like mad for me.

Thanks Joy! Should I bring my own dressing you think? I am always leery of dressings.....and I will watch it with the cake. I'll be sure to not have anything at home afterward that might tempt me.

I think you'd be okay with ranch or blue cheese. Ask for it on the side (they'll bring you like a full cup of the stuff---wayyyyy too much). Then dip your fork in the dressing and then spear your salad. You'll use way less dressing that way.

Thanks Joy! In my 3 cup salads I eat here at home I only use 1 tbsp of ranch and toss the salad well and that is plenty so that tip will help - I get grossed out with overly "dressed" salads lol!

I've found CF to be one of the best places for a low- carber-- try the bunless burgers with a small salad instead of fries, a steak (choose one not marinated in "special" spices), or chicken madeira. The latter has a sauce made of only wine and mushrooms and is my fave.

Re: Cheesecake Factory low carb cheesecake?

I went there last night after reading this thread yesterday. I ordered an omlette and that was good. But the cheesecake made me feel sick all night and even woke up still feeling totally icky. Its hard for me to believe that only had 6 grams of carbs. Maybe it does.... but it seemed way too rich and my body acted adversely to it so that makes me doubt it. Another thing, the BF and I had no idea what kind of restaurant we were going to, showed up in our summer clothes and flip flops and realized we were a little under dressed. It was a very nice place with a fancy restaurant atmosphere but not really high prices. BUT... not kid friendly. There was no kids menu for my kiddo!

Sounds delish! But cheescake can't have me. My history shows that one bite of a sweet is the end for me...a spiral downward! Be careful!

Oh, too bad! Are you sensitive to SAs? That cheesecake has aplenty. I've never had a problem, though, not even with gastrointestinal distress. Sorry you had a bad experience!

No, I don't think I'm sensitive to them. I've never really had a problem with any other sugar alcohols. Maybe I just ate too much overall.
