Am i doing it right

  • Am i doing it right

    Hi am Judy, second day on induction....but am wondering if am dong it right here is what i have eaten so far:
    Day 1
    Breakfast
    1/2 cup of detained tea+1 sweeter(no aspt)
    1 egg(cooked on a anon stick pan)
    2 wurstel (german type sausages)
    snack
    a very small piece of gouda cheese

    Lunch
    Burger fried with a half teasp of butter with a 1/4 onion
    1 Tomato & 2 cups of salad(1 table spoon of extra vergin oil)

    Day 2
    Breakfast
    skipped was very late for work

    Lunch
    pork cooked on a non stick pan
    2 cups of salad(1 table spoon of extra vergin oil)

    snack
    a piece of emental cheese

    supper
    1 boiled egg + 2 cups salad( 1 table spoon of extra vergin oil)
    feta cheese 25g
    1 tomato

    NB
    a week ago before i started atkins i had cut drastically my carbohydrate intake, eat lots of fruits so am not having hunger pangs
    Well i dont eat cream nor butter but should i start? ( have always avoided them before)

    My main query is should i use oil, butter when cooking my meat or fish?
    Have i done ok so far

    YES! You definitely need the oils/fats for cooking your meats or dressing your salads. The reason that Atkins works is because of the FATS we eat. 65% of your daily calories should be from fat sources. You might want to check out www.fitday.com to enter all your foods and make sure that you are getting enough fat. This is IMPORTANT!

    You can have 3 ounces of cheese a day.
    Youc an have 3 tbspn of cream a day
    You can have full fat salad dressings without added sugar (blue cheese, ranch, caesar)
    you can have olive oil
    You can have 1/2 an avacado
    Eggs
    Mayonnaise
    These are all acceptable sources of fat...there are many more such as sour cream, cream cheese, etc.

    Oh, I'm glad to see you eating veggies...but try to eat more vegetables with a better nutritional value than "salad" which usually translates to "lettuce" Lettuce is little more than crunchy water...spend your vegetable allowance (only 3 cups per day) on more nutritious veggies.
