  • Life After Induction- Will those of you come in please

I would like some help with life after induction.

Do you still eat full fat yogurt, salad dressings, mayo, etc? Or did you lower the fat in these items once you hit maintenance?

What about meats? Do you still eat bacon and sausage? Or do you pick leaner choices?

Anything you would like to add is appreciated.

    TIA

Speck have you read the book?

after induction we go onto OWL (ongoing weight loss) your fat count still stays around abouts the same, yet you add certain foods as shown in the book every few weeks. how about you head over to the OWL forum and read the sticky posts (at the top) and learn more about it in there?

if you havent got the book i strongly suggest you get DANDR 2002

Oh Dear I've read the book many many times. I always find something new that I missed the time before.

I just want ideas from posters that's all. I'm familiar with CCL and OWL.

Hello Speck, i'm in maintenance and usually my fats are around 50% of my daily intake, compared to the 65% they used to be. I find that having added back grains etc, my fat % dropped when the carb % went up...protein has stayed the same. When the carbs come up..the fat tends to go down. I no longer really pay attention to the %'s as I used too, I just try to make sure that I always eat my carbs with a protein and a bit of fat (apple slices dipped in peanut or almond butter) and avoid any issue foods. i do still track my foods alot of days though just to make sure I don't go overboard.

I guess it would also depend on your CCLL, I usually average around 75g's of net carbs a day. If your carbs are lower your fat % might be a bit higher. I don't think though Dr. A meant for it to stay at 65% for maintenance.

Yes yes yes eat the fat. I never cut fat from my diet. But I don't eat bacon and not much sausage any more. But I don't eat those because I'm concered about the processing and additives in most of the bacon and sausage foods. Not the fat.

Funny, for me it seemed to be a natural progression. Due to the fact that I was in ketosis for so long, it was a natural appetite suppresant. So......I no longer eat the quantities that I used to. And as I went up the rungs I added those foods and that dropped my fats naturally. By the time you hit maintenance/pre-maintenance you are eating a well balanced menu and enjoying life!
