  • I have some questions...

Ugh, I keep cheating and it is getting discouraging! Question- if certain kinds of hard alcohol have no carbs, how come it isn't allowed during induction? And if you cheat, and your body stops burning fat, how long does it take to get back to ketosis? I have yet to make it through a week of induction.

    Hi ceecee

If you're getting discouraged because you're cheating- and I know this sounds simplistic (because it is! ) - Well, cheating!

Question- if certain kinds of hard alcohol have no carbs, how come it isn't allowed during induction?
    1. Because your body burns the alchol before it burns anything- thereby causing the fat burning to stop.
    2. People tend to make bad choices when they've been drinking.
    3. Because while some of them are no carb- they *are* about 70 calories an ounce. While we don't count calories, calories *do* count. - Refer back to #1.
    4. Because Dr. Atkins said so.

If you cheat, and your body stops burning fat, how long does it take to get bak to ketosis?
Depends on your metabolism and how much damage you did with your cheat. Is it a cracker or is it a pint of Ben and Jerry's? Could take anywhere from 1-3 days.

I have yet to make it through a week of induction.
Why? What's stopping you? Why are you sabotaging yourself?

You're asking the wrong questions, ceecee. You shouldn't be looking for excuses and time lines, you should be asking about ways we've found to stay on the straight and narrow and be successful.

    I wish you success.
