Thanks for the tip on sesame oil and lime or lemon. I can't believe I like it. I only had lemon the first time I tried it and I wanted to lick the salad bowl! Tonight, I was going to stir-fry bok choy (white parts and green leaves) and I thought I'd do part in olive oil and do a little in sesame oil and lime to see if I would like it, and it was so good, I made it all that way! I'd had that bottle of sesame oil for a long time and had only used a little once. Now 11 days later, it's almost all gone!

If you're avoiding vinegar, you might still want to try Bragg's organic raw apple cider vinegar. It has natural enzymes that are supposed to be very good for you. If you have a yeast problem, it's sometimes recommended.

        Sunny!
Unfortunately don't have any suggestions for salad dressings but I want to say I had issues until recently from extended antibiotic use as well. I had to use them from Aug. till Nov. on and off until I had surgery and I ended up with C Diff which I guess is caused from that. It was NO FUN!
So they put me on more antibiotics (lol) to kill off all the bad stuff in me.
I just recovered for the most part Jan. 1st.

It's a vicious cycle! I'm going to try my best to never take antibiotics ever again. I'm also going to try to never be admitted to a hospital ever again. They're a terrible place for a sick person to be.

How about mashing avocado with lime juice? If you use enough lime juice the consistency isn't too thick and it gives a great flavour on salad. Also how about a little salsa mixed with a little cream or sour cream for a Mexican salad?

The Mexican salad sounds good right now, but I can't have the salsa because it contains vinegar and I can't have any kind of dairy. I especially can't have sour cream, or there wouldn't be a problem. As soon as I am off this yeast-free diet, I'm having a big, spicy-hot taco salad!

I don't like avocados, but I might give them another try to see if my tastes have changed. I do like guacamole, but the time I tried to make it homemade, it wasn't good.

It doesn't say toasted, but it is dark in color. It's Imperial Dragon brand, 100% pure sesame oil. I saw toasted, but didn't get it. Maybe next time.

If it's dark, it's toasted sesame seeds. GOOD STUFF!!

I took a bite and it blistered the skin on my lips! Yikes! that stuff was hot!

I am looking through seed catalogs right now and already on my list from Burpee is a tomato called "Fresh Salsa" which is almost all meat and few seeds.

                          Hi Sunny-
I love to see the responses when someone reaches out for help!
Forgive me for not clicking on the salsa recipe link - the one without vinegar. Here is my recipe:
1 large tin crushed tomatoes or 3 large tomatoes
                          1 c green onions minced
                          2 tbs olive oil
1 c red or green bell pepper
                          chile flakes to taste
                          1tsp dry chicken stock
Heat oil in a saucepan, toss in green onion, saute on med-high heat until they begin to soften. Add tomato and chile flakes. Reduce heat to med-low/low and add peppers. Simmer 3-4 minutes, until peppers soften. Remove from heat and stir in chicken stock. (this acts like salt with better flavour). Let cool and enjoy!
Also, I am experimenting with cilantro-lime-olive oil - when I get it right, I will post it for you.

Mmmmm...that sounds good, too! I love the responses, too. There are so many foods I would have never tried, if not for the sharing of ideas on this board. That's what keeps this WOE interesting and makes you feel like you are eating gourmet all the time. I AM willing to give stuff a try, though, not keep sticking to the "I don't like that" just because I didn't like it when I was a kid or even when I first started this WOE. I couldn't imagine liking lemon juice and oil as a salad dressing, but I love it, now!

                            Sunny!
