I'm interested to know what everyone else does to conquer what I call "panic craving attacks". I mainly struggle right after eating my main meal as my past history was to eat some type of dessert item(s) after every meal. I've found that a cup of diet rootbeer is a very good sweet treat that curbs my craving and I keep some on hand for my panic attacks. Anyone else have a quick fix to share?

Re: What are your quick sweet craving secrets?
hey, ever put any heavy whipping cream in that diet rootbeer? JUST LIKE A ROOTBEER FLOAT! OMG, SO FRIGGIN' GOOD!
BUT
the idea is to wean yourself from the sweet cravings. It'd be in your best interest to rid yourself of that need rather than feed it with a substitute.30/F/5'6"

Re: What are your quick sweet craving secrets?
I really only have sweet cravings once a month. Usually, I ignore them till they go away. However, I do have a collection of full fat cocoa powders of various kinds, and I have been known to make myself a hot cocoa with 1T cocoa, a few drops of Stevia, 2 oz light cream, and hot water to top of mug

I make a flax mufin, add an extra drop of splenda and some cocoa powder and pretend it's chocolate cake.

Re: What are your quick sweet craving secrets?
whipped cream does have carbsOriginally posted by Brenda SalazarI have the same problem. What usually works with me is jello with whipped cream on top...hey 0 carbs.
and sf often has aspartame from what i hear, so it can easily stall u or slow u down.
i usually go for like 50g of mascarpone, low in carbs, high in fat and add a little bit of cocoa powder and sweetener to it...tastes almost like really creamy chocolate ice cream.
best thing is, i dont need to eat much to feel satisfied as the stuff is so fat

Re: What are your quick sweet craving secrets?
1/2 c. heavy cream, 1 TBSP cocoa powder, 1 TBSP splenda
It's got some carbs in it, but not as much as breaking down and eating something full of sugar.
edited to add: You are supposed to whip this until fluffy. It makes a chocolate whipped cream that is sort of mousse like.Last edited by Elffriend; January 8, 2008, 04:12 PM.

Re: What are your quick sweet craving secrets?
Thanks to all of you who have posted....although I know I'm supposed to "get over" the cravings, it can still hit me and knowing that others struggle at times keeps me plugging along. I'm going to try the lemon juice on the tongue trick, can't hurt!37 yr. F 5' 8''

Re: What are your quick sweet craving secrets?
Pumpkin mixed with a little cream cheese or butter or heavy cream -- add a little Splenda and cinnamon. Gets in some good veggie carbs and helps with sweet cravings.
Brushing my teeth plus mouthwash also helps!
