Just a rant, but I've often thought that things would be SO much different if dietary fat had a different name than body fat. They are NOT the same thing, so why are they called the same thing!? Same with dietary cholesterol, and serum cholesterol. It's difficult for most people to actually learn about the workings of the human body, and easier to think "Eat fat- get fat!" (Susan Powers should be shot IMHO) As if the fat you eat somehow just stays in your body, going to a butter storage tank on your *** or something. Who do I need to write to get this changed? Websters? The FDA? Suggestions for a new word would be good too. I was thinking body fat could stay, and dietary fat could be something like "prefered fuel". Or maybe a cool acaronym... Hmm...
