For those of you who were following this, my husband weighed in last night after 11 days and was 8 pounds down. He also went down one waist size on his jeans last week. I would be jealous if I wasn't so glad to see him lose!
For those of you who have been following this thread and are thinking. Cool way to lose without induction, I would like to add a few things. This is working for my husband because it is the only way I could get him to do low carb. BUT, I am pretty sure he would have lost more if he had done it the corect way. More important, he has missed some of the greatest benefits of proper Atkins as in Appetite loss. He is losing, he is low carbing, but he is also quite hungry every day. The only way I can make his higher version of low carb work is with portion control. He is not counting calories and goes way over the norm for "diet" calories, but still has controlled portions. I do not think he is actual ketosis, I think he is at a pretty high level of OWL. Also this may not have worked for him at all if he was insulin resistant. I don't think he actually is, since he can lose on any diet if he sets his mind to it. But once he gets going, he loses faster and better on Atkins.
He does realize he was "tricked" into it, but after 36 years, its kind of hard to trick him for long
. And he's pretty happy now that he's seen the results.
He s also going to jazzercise occassionally with me. He started going to make me "keep it up". I don't actually need a push since I love it and go every day if I can, but he actually enjoys it too although so far, he is the only guy I have seen there.
