Re: Buddy List June 30th - July 6th

hey everyone....really long day today, didn't go in quite as early as i had planned, only 1 hr and 15 mins instead of 2 hrs early. had my allergy test, and i'm not allergic to anything, but i kinda had a feeling i wasn't.

when i got home, i went for a 1.5 mile walk, will probably do my push ups tonight too. i'm thinking of doing my exercises a little differently now. instead of doing each type(crunches, push ups, & squats) each day, i'm gonna start doing just one. i will start doing an increased amount of repititions, but that will give those specific muscles more time to rest in between exercises. my muscles are starting to feel a little over worked some days. i really have tried to exercise every day without taking many rest days since re-starting this wol. i know my body does need those days of rest, but the exercising itself is starting to become an addiction after seeing such great results. i know without the exercise, i wouldn't have had this much energy either.

well, hope all my buddies will have a great day tomorrow, i will check in after work.

    good night, monie

I went shopping. I forgot it was the 1st. Yikes! The store was packed. Not only is it the firet, but its the first of July. There was a family there with three shopping carts full of ONLY soda. About 75 12-packs and cases. it was insanity. they said they were going camping. guess they're anticipating being thirsty!

Hi everyone!!! And I'm sure you know who I am no? haha, I'm bill's daughter, Corinne. Well, after seeing Daddy's amazing results how could I not get into the diet, right? It's the end of my third day and things are going well so far -- no cheating AND I've been drinking 8c of water a day (the hardest part, I swear!) Well, the only thing I haven't hopped on yet is the excersize. I'm gonna pop over right now and join the 6wec before it's too late!!!

Honestly, I began reading all of your posts since the very beginning and after about page 30 I decided that I was just too excited to join y'all to wait until I finshed the rest. I love that many of you post a few times per day, that's commitment, and you can be sure that I'll be posting my heart out too..

Here's to a great support group, I'm so excited because all of you are sooo amazing: knowledgeable, supportive, and committed!

BTW: I've started two threads if u wanna know more about me; 1) the spotlight introduction and 2) the BEFORE PICS (gulp..)

Re: Buddy List June 30th - July 6th

            Evening all!
Good day for us..the Fair was great! biggest obstacle was the sweets, and fried dough..never realized how much we consumed at events like this. One sad part tho--we found the picnic tables and had our own lunch..not like when I was a kid..people at every table--everything under the sun being cooked and shared--no one ever wandered to far from the area..it was like home base---Today the tables were so far away I know I heard crickets..lonely and empty--family's now stuffed inside the 50 some odd Pizza stations or fried this and that..After passing the fried Twinkee stand which was next to the fried candy bar stand I knew (after blind folding the family and tugging them away) I never want to eat that stuff again.

Did meet the cheese makers--found out that every brand of Shredded cheese in a bag has loads and loads of potato starch and corn starch to keep the cheese separated..2 of the biggest stallers--it's disclosed in the ingredients but not the amount they use.

Andie ==I have a fake arm cast for just such emergency's--
WTG! way to stay the coarse..now let's discuss the pizza incident.......

Live--A Drink? a frozen drink?--but you should have heard all our little voices in your head! LOL--Hey remember your motto and don't stay down!
and turn up your little voices box..you'll hear us! load and clear!

Study--nothing exciting today food wise..BUT---Have 3 smoker's set up for tommorrow--1st has apple wood and baby back ribs, 2nd has cherry wood and filled with turkey drum sticks, 3rd has hickory wood and Beef briskets..

Monie--need to rest muscle groups to heal the tearing ( which it uses fat to heal and make stronger, hence fat to lean muscle) Your idea is the most recommended.work upper then lower to rest upper..I've been biking then jogging..tommorrow I will use resistance for upper body for a bit.

Hi everyone. Livelaugh, you can find ketosticks at the drug store. I got mine at Walgreens. There is usually a section for products or people with diabetes and that's where they keep them. Hope everyone is doing well. Welcome Corinne! Congrats on doing the 6WEC.

Good morning buddies. What a splendid morning it appears to be today. Hopefully it doesnt rain, I promised me girls we are going to the zoo today. Havent decided which. Bronx or Philadelphia. I dont weigh myself religiously, I do it when i remember actually and always in the morning right after I awake. Well surprise, surprise down another 1/2. I'll take it. A loss is a loss afterall. Stay focused everyone and resist temptations. This is cheat free day #25 and still going. One day closer to the old me. Once this one's gone, he aint coming back. Good luck to everyone. Hope everyone's feeling as good as I do today. Stay strong and motivated and take baby steps. One day and one pound at a time. Supporting one another we will get through this and be successful. God Bless, Joe

Ok, well, I have been bummed, I guess our little weekend splurge was NOT worth it! I gained back 3 pounds and bf gained 5. I exercised hard the last two days too, so I am just crossing my fingers that it is really just that. We are starting to lose hope big time though, he is ready to just quit. What do you guys think? Will we continue to lose past induction, we have been doing things right again, and haven't even eaten anything wrong for 3 weeks. Just the bacardi the one night, although it was quite a bit of it. Dumb. But it should work for us if we had such good success on induction, right?

                    Welcome Bill's daughter!

Also have been super busy with a test I have to take on campus today, very nervous about it, usually my time to binge eat, but I haven't! Someone send me some encouragement, please! This is supposed to be the summer I get skinny, it doesn't feel like it will work for me anymore.

Here's what I think. If your talking and/or thinking about quitting, then I think you already have your mind made up on quitting. Not to sound mean, but I'd rather tell you the truth then lie to you. God Bless, Joe

Well he is thinking about throwing in the towel, I am looking for some encouragement. I am just wondering if I did so good on induction, shouldn't I go on to succeed overall? If I stay on track?

val, your last couple posts really touched me and i feel like i need to jump in here before going to work to lend you some encouragement.

i hope this isn't hitting below the belt, but here's my thoughts....go look at that little guy of yours that struggled so hard in the beginning of life. you and his daddy stood by his side and watched him fight everyday. he didn't give up and look how great he's doing now. IMHO that should be all the encouragement you need. im sure there were rough days for him where he could've just as easily given up. so now you've had a little bump in the road, you knew it could happen when you decided you were gonna drink and now it has and you've let it cause you to want to give up.

i think you need to take a look at your ultimate goals in your siggy, if you give up now, you will never reach them. if you stick with it and stay strong, you can achieve them and even surpass them. giving up is never the answer. no one said getting the weight loss was going to be easy, if it was easy, we all wouldn't be here needing and lending support. i think you need to sit down and reevaluate things, get your head back in the game, and continue on.

you can do this, we all struggle from time to time. i'm glad you came here seeking encouragement. we are all rooting for you to succeed.

once again, i hope by using your little one as an example you are not offended, but sometimes the things closest to our hearts are what keeps us motivated and able to carry on.

                          stay strong,
                          monie

Val -You will defintely succeeed, if you stick to the plan. I don't think it is possible to stick to the plan and NOT have results. I am feeling discouraged like you are right now because i have gained back almost 3 pounds. I made a comittment last night to restart induction and do it right this time, starting this morning!

You can totally do this. There is no reason to jump off the wagon... it will surely cause a gain. I would rather loose slowly but surely than risk gaining! =) Hang in there! I am sure there is a chapter in DANDR that deals with the way you are feeling!

Thanks Monie and Andrea, that is exactly what I need, some encouragement. And you didn't offend me by using the baby as an example. Thanks for thinking I am worth encouraging after I "premeditated" my fallback, boy oh boy, have I learned from it!! I guess I was overconfident from how well I did on induction and now I know that was dumb! Thanks so much you guys!!!

Monie, you are so encouraging, just by your committment to exercise!! I admire that about you so much!!! I know how important it is, and will definitely stay committed to it.

Andrea, I am in admiration of your resolve to restart, good for you! We are in this together, huh?

Ok, looking at my siggy, squaring my shoulders, NO size XL uniforms for me!!! I can do it, I still have 6 weeks, and the exercise challenge is only going to help!! (Boy a person could for sure give up easily without support!)

Gotta cram for this test!! Thanks again girls!!!

All the support is here, all you gotta do is look and ask for it. Too much negativity on here as well, we need to stay focused on our goals. Heck I'm no pro at this, being a first timer and all, however I'm trying my hardest to make this work. Too much low or no self esteem here and we need to get rid of that. Lets have positive thoughts only, it will produce positive results. No more oops I cheated, or one more time. Finish what you start and reach for them goals. Let's finish this off. Everyone here pretty much knows what they can and cant have while on induction. Some things you can have in limited quantities. So why tease yourself and bring in the illegal foods, knowing that a sip, bite or minute taste and you'll be back to where you started. I'm sorry if I offend anyone but I'm riding high and reading some of these posts almost bringing me down. And I wont allow it. Many, many successful Atkiner's on here who have stayed the course and completed victoriously. Well I want to be one of them. I'd like us ALL to be one of them. Get rid of the negative thoughts and negative feelings. Let's push ahead. Life is too short, so let's make the best of it this time around. I have a long way to go and I am feeling super, but I may have one of them moments where I may need to come on here and look for support as well. So far that hasnt happened but I'm sure it will, the key is to resist temptation. Stay focused. Stay strong. Get yourself motivated. And keep your head up. W can do this if we just put a lil bit of effort into it. Only the strong survive. God Bless, Joe
