Re: can anyone help please? sudden weight gain after 8 years
I have wrestled with the "returning Atkins" syndrome myself. I still consier myself a huge Atkisn Success Story (I'm 80 lbs lighter today than when I started in 2002ish), but I have put weight back on over the last 18 mos and sitting in induction doesn't have the same magic for me.
Personally - I believe the problem stems from portions. We become very accustomed to eating high protein - and very efficient at digesting it - so we eat more. Dr. A himself said that this could be a problem.
I'd suggest a few strategies. 1. Depending on where you are in the phases - make sure you are eating enough carbs. Don't be afraid to increase "good carbs" slightly. 2. Make sure you haven't fallen off on your water intake. 3. Watch your portions. Try putting things on smaller plates, etc., to see what you are doing.
Just dont' be crazy and NEVER eat sugar or refined flower.
My two cents....best of luck.....
