DH and I went to McDonalds to grab 2 double cheeseburgers (minus the bread and ketchup) with an unsweetened ice tea. I ordered an unsweetened ice tea, she hands DH the cup and he goes to the ice tea containers and gets mine out of the one that has no "sweet" sticker on it. I take a sip and notice immediately that it is sweet, I yell at him which I should not have, and she says "oh you have to get unsweetened tea from behind the counter." Well, wouldn't you have thought that she should have either let me know that when I ordered or even better filled it in the cup for me since that is what she had to do anyways? Did I totally ruin my day by that one sip, that I must tell you was not my fault, right now I am so upset. Help.

Re: REALLY LIVID at the rude teenager cashier
The cashier does sound kind of clueless. Good for you for stopping at one sip once you realized it was the wrong stuff.
I just noticed that you and I started at about the same time with about the same weight and same goal. You're doing great!

Unless you took a huge gulp, you are probably fine. Drink lots of water to flush it out...

How annoying!
I think one sip will be fine - as Adena said drink lots of water and be extra careful to watch and ignore cravings over the next few days.

You know some people just don't understand and think that the difference is no big deal. I definitely did not want to drink it after refusing cake and ice cream at my niece's birthday party yesterday, that was a huge accomplishment. Cake and Ice Cream are my absolute favorite..
I wish you luck and success on your goal. I noticed that you have three daughters, I also have three daughters but I then threw a son in there to liven up the mix.. LOL. I am now cooking two seperat meals one for them and one for DH and myself, but in the words of Gloria Gainer "I WILL Survive."

The cashier had better be glad that wasn't me and she let me get sweetened coffee in my mouth. She would have been wearing it! I can tolerate sweetened tea, though I don't like it, but coffee with sugar can't stay in my mouth long enough to swallow. I have to spit that nasty stuff out.
You'll be fine, but good for you not drinking more than a sip.
Sunny!

One sip shouldn't do much harm. As some others said, drink lots of water and carry right on. That cashier sounds like a nitwit! Before and after:
