  • Adrenal Fatigue

    Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here has any kind of adrenal fatigue and been successful on Atkins? I have adrenal fatigue since I had a very serious car accident two years ago and it's hard for me to deal with stress effectively because of it. Since the diagnosis I have gained weight straight in the abdominal area and it's hard to get that area slimmed down.

From what I've read about the adrenal fatigue it's like my body is constantly under stress and just about everything I eat including protein gets turned to sugar quickly, my body even takes the protein from my legs and arms which is why I'm skinny in those areas I've had success with a lower carb meal plan before but this was before the adrenal fatigue.

I'm hoping that I can have success with this way of eating.

    Re: Adrenal Fatigue

You are going to need more supplements than many might, especially the B vitamin complex, (also called 'stress vitamins') and you will want to eat high nutrition foods like eggs and bright vegetables like leafy lettuces and spinach, etc. But I would think that you could still have success with Atkins, it is a very nutritious way to eat, and that is what you need to build yourself back up.

If I don't take my B's I lose my ability to handle stress... get very nervous and jumpy and pitifully depressed. They are not expensive, and you don't need to worry about getting too much on a recommended dose on the bottle, they aren't stored in the body so that you can overdose. I highly recommend them!
