Problems with prednisone weight gain

Has anyone ever taken prednisone?? The Dr. gave me a shot the other day plus I have been on the large dose for the last 3 days. I have moon face and I have gained 10lbs since Wed.!! Sooo discouraging..My husband just laughs but, I wonder will it disappear when I stop taking it? I only have to take for about 2 weeks for poison ivy.

My son used to have to take it for asthma (and my dog for CHF) and yes.. sorry but that is an unpleasant side effect of prednisone. It should go away soon after you stop but you usually have to go off it gradually too. (You can also grow some extra hair I believe). Hope you feel better soon.
