  • ive cheated for like a week now!!!..PLEASE HELP ME

    Just with everything going so bad now and im a weighing my self obsessed( and my scale broke in pieces so i dont even have that to maintain me)like just now i eat a cinnibun i made for my family... i just cant grasp myself to be like stop you almost lost 30 and prob gain back 10 im sick now on top of alot of stress and i cant even exercise!~!!.. please if any one has any advice how to get back on or just words of wisdom it be so great!!! i got down to 190 and now im prob back up to 200... ooo gosh im so disapointed in my self!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    First order of business: Stop beating up on yourself! Really, that is wasting valuable energy and serves no purpose whatsoever.

    I'm very sorry about the stress in your life. Been there/done that. But as for Atkins, only you can decide whether or not you're ready, willing and able to commit to it. It's a lifestyle, not a quick fix, as you know. How badly do you want this? Only you can answer that, my dear.

    Plenty of advice and support here ... so if you feel yourself faltering, check in with the board and there's always someone here to slap you upside the head!

    I think you can do this! So ... here's a big ol' ((HUG!)) ... now dry your tears and get back to taking care of yourself!

      We are in the same boat honey!!! I posted a thread yesterday that I cheated both Friday and Saturday!!! It is soooo hard not to. And then afterwards..your like "what did I just do"...without even thinking.
      Today...I woke up early and kinda talked to myself about this. Im going to get the book today (from the library for free). And I think that if I read the book during my free time that my mind will be focused on that. Im also getting a book called "Atkins for life cookbook". Im the pickiest eater in the WORLD. And its making it sooo hard for me but we all have to stick together. Ive read a couple of your posts and I think u said ur going through a seperation. If that is correct...just keep in mind "man Im gonna show him how sexy I am without all that weight"....Me myself..I have to wear a swimsuit in Feb. Im so mad at myslef for cheating...but I guess I have to put that behind me and act like it never happened and just keep on going. Yesterday after I cheated.I still ate some of my son's candy thinking..."well I already cheated today...so might as well keep cheating today"....but now that I look at it...I was just putting myself further and further back. AHHH...so I totally know how u feel. Being sick sure doesnt help...and hopefully u get over that quickly. You know they say that chicken noodle soup is the best thing for a cold. So eat some chicken-no-noodle soup. Im sure there is such a thing. Make it up. Also if u wanna talk to me privatly my e-mail is mislicious16@yahoo.com We can be a team!!!!!           Hey there,

          I have had many a run in with the cheating. I agree with Floodette, don't be hard on yourself - you've done it move on. Do not let a spiral happen!

          Think about why it happened - if stress is a trigger think of how to chanel stress another way (exercise is great for this).

          Think of how far you have come and what you did and why. Try not to throw the hard work away and be positive about the future, no point being negative about the past.

            You know, I was talking with a friend a week or so ago telling her about all the crap going on in my life...and you know what she said? "Count your blessings." I can't tell you how much those 3 words made me stop and think about all the good I have in my life. Those 3 words helped me to get back on this WOE.

            I know you have a lot of pain and stress right now...but if you do this WOE it will only make you stronger so you can deal with it. The junk food, sugars & carbs are only going to bring you down even further....I have been there and done that, and now that I'm off the junk I feel so much better.

            You can do this WOE and get through the rough times together...it is just a choice you have to make for yourself.

            You have a lot of support here!!

            Wishing you lots of strength to get through this, I know you will!

              Whenever you feel the need to cheat, just try and weigh out the good and the bad. If you cheat, you will gain wait. If you don't, you will get to your goal and be unbelievably happy. That is the way I look at it. You had a week off the diet, so have it stop there and get right back on track. If you go completely off of the diet you will feel even worse and put all the weight back on. It's kinda like the saying "once you're in the hole don't keep digging" or something like that. Try and stay positive. We are all here for you :hugs:

                  Last week you problably read my "crashed and burned" post when I cheated with the soda then the rice and gained back to 200, I just did what I was told here, stop beating yourself up and get back on it the next day..I did just that and today I was at 190! so not only did I lost the 5 lbs I gained I lost an extra 5 because it motivated me not to not fall for it again...So you cheated welcome to the club get back to those eggs and bacon tomorrow morning. on the stress.

                    well i am very sorry to hear that you are going through a hard time right now iv'e been there and i also find it a little difficult dieting while i am having problems ,a couple of times while doing atkin's i've fell off the wagon and i would go on a eating spree and gain 5 or 6 pounds and i know that the feeling is awful but you know what it really is not worth it !!! you oviously can do this so stop beating yourself up and just start all over ,even if you gained some weight back you know that you can lose it so jump back on the band wagon and just think of junk food as you enemy,and when you think that you feel like eating something that you are not suppose to just repeat to yourself that you know what it tastes like and you don't need to eat it , so good luck keep us posted everyone here are really great people!!!!

                        Hello my fellow ADBBer's
                        I crashed and burned this week due to a deceptive ingredient list. Of course when I fell out of ketosis I also had a peice of pizza and some ice cream... I gained 7 pounds back. I felt defeated and dissapointed in myself. I almost went off the plan.....old habits and thoughts that led to this weight gain started to surface....a dangerous thing! The power of that little weight gain almost undid everything I have accomplished.
                        I did some research and there is a substance our liver produces and stores called Glycogen. Our liver will take one molecule of carbohydrate and attach 4 molecules of water. When we go on Low carb/Induction we quickly use up the Glycogen for energy and then shed the water resulting in large amounts of weight loss in the first week. However the opposite is true when we eat off the No No list. Our liver pulls in the carbs to produce Glycogen and we end up gaining large amounts in a matter of days. The same weight we lost in that first week. It can be 4-10 pounds!
                        Knowledge is power! Remember if you cheat or accidently eat off plan this terrible bloating weight gain is water and once back on plan you will shed it quickly....usually within a week. Hang in there people and step away from that plate of disaster!
