  • Why we shouldn't always rely on sizes...

Hello All, I just thought I would share this! I went to a shop the other day and tried on one of these skirts. It fit so I bought another in a different colour. These are the exact same style and size, neither have been washed or worn. But the grey one is clearly bigger than the brown one! What's with that??

I'm choosing to take this as a sign that it is more important for me to know my measurements than it is to obsess over what size I am in any particular shop!

    Hi Amy

    Happy new year hun!

Well, personally I would believe the size of the grey one is real ;-)

Thats weird...maybe one of the skirts was mis-sized wherever they were manufactured.

I know a size 10 for example doesn't always fit me. Sizes are so varied. I try on everything no matter what size it says it is.

Good idea to just shop by measurements but so many of the clothes aren't displayed that way. Most things are sold by size not waist size....well some bluejeans are sold that way, but otherwise, not much else is sold by a measurement.

A size 10 in one skirt can measure 34 inches at the waist where a different brand size 10 skirt can measure 36 inches.

Guess there is no easy way around this but to have to try everything on and if you are buying two of the same things, hold them up against one another to make sure they look the same size.

Bummer that you will have to return one of the skirts now. They are cute!

I've always said.... Pants don't have a weight requirement on them, but they darn sure have a waist size requirement! I don't give a rip what I weigh so long as my fits in my pants!

Labels suck and scales are dumb.
