Re: How do you work out your goal weight?
I noticed your post had got missed in between the others in the thread you added it to, so have made it into its own thread to get noticed better!
I initially had not got a clue as to what my goal weight should be so just picked a number which was half of my initial weight. when I got close to that I realised I still had over 20 pounds that I needed to lose by the bulges and flob I still have around mainly my middle area, so set a new goal weight.
Many other members are more scientific about it and go by the 'ideal weight' charts that are around or by asking their doctor's advice.
However many people who have followed Atkins and lost weight while also exercising find their weight is heavier than their shape implies - they are smaller in clothes size than they were at the same weight previously, so they set a clothes size goal instead.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Re: How do you work out your goal weight?
I picked one that was inside the healthy BMI and the last time I knew I felt good about myself. I also thought given my age it was not too unrealistic for me to get there. Like Elizellen says now that I am close to that weight I am actually a lot smaller than I was before. I wear clothes about 4 sizes smaller than last time. Exercise is pretty cool.

Sheila- You always have such helpful posts. I love all the different scales. The peoples choice weight is the only one that is not like 40 lbs less than my fat-free mass.. Great post. THanks again!Originally posted by SugarFreeSheila View PostWhen people write to me with this question, I usually provide this link so that they can play with the numbers.

Re: How do you work out your goal weight?
Thanks for the link. When asked, my doctor told me that 'what people weigh on their wedding day is usually their 'ideal' weight'. The insurance recommendation came pretty close to that.Originally posted by SugarFreeSheila View Post
