      I did the same thing you did a few nights before I started....I wasw really surprised that after a couple days I really didn't miss the bad carbs because the food I was preparing tasted so good!

      Remember to read the book and follow it TO THE LETTER during induction - join a few exercise challenges to help get yourself motivated and moving. Also, read the boards, ask questions, post your feelings. Also keep track of your food intake -- go to fitday (it's free) or keep a journal of what you eat.

        umm.. well, i am going to rain on the parade (as always). The more you pig out on the carbs before starting Atkins, the longer it actually takes you to get into ketosis. Since your body has to burn through all the carbs before you hit that level, if you're starting Monday, and on Sunday you have like, a pizza, a cake, and a croissanwich from Burger King, you're actually changing time from being in ketosis maybe by Tues/WEd to more like Thurs/Fri... Does that make sense?

        Anyway, Good luck for Monday! Have you gone grocery shopping for the big event yet?

          I agree with Lyssie - as when I read your post I had intended to respond with just one word

            Oh ok ive changed my plans after thinking about ketosis. I will only moderately stuff my face with carbs. but besides that im ready to get this thing started.

              Your first post made me giggle. Life as you know it will not be over just because you do low carb. You will still enjoy food and life and have fun.
