  • Anyone Tried "Walden Farms" syrups?

Has anyone tried any of the Walden Farms syrups?
I got the chocolate and the maple. They are pretty good, and they are zero carbs, zero calories and zero sugar alcohols. I don't know how they do it.

By working out the numbers for a smallish serving I assume.
As long as you stick to this amount and dont have several servings worth you can 'sort of' trust the numbers.

I looked at the info for the chocolate syrup and see its ingredients include cocoa powder, so it must have 'some' calories/carbs as cocoa powder has 2 net carbs per tablespoon according to fitday - and in fact there is a note that it contains 'trace calories' in tiny letters at the bottom of the label.

I know they are allowed to claim zero if it has less than 0.5 carbs, so if you are eating more than one serving I would count 0.4 net carbs per serving.

And of course - make sure you count the sweetener in your max of 3 per day.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Can I have more Splenda than 3 per day if I count it?
I thought the reason we count Splenda is for the filler that is put in to the granular version. Foods that contain Splenda have pure Splenda with no filler.

Hmmm. After some web surfing, I see that 3 servings during induction is the limit. I don't remember reading that in the book. I do have the old Atkins book that was before sucralose was on the market. I thought artificial sweeteners weren't a problem unless it was Nutrasweet Did the rules change?

Okay, I just looked in my book. There is no limit for sucralose. Atkins says to count each packet a 1 carb. The only place in the induction chapter where I see a limit of 3 packets is regarding saccharin, he says to limit it to three because it may be dangerous to have any more than that.
