  • If you have ever been stalled/at a plateau...

How did you break through it? More exercise? Water? Carbs? I lost a lot my first week and then nothing in the 3 weeks following. I am going to be a bridesmaid in June and I was really expecting to lose a pound or two each week. I'm really getting frustrated.

I am just wondering what you have done that successfully broke your stall?

    Thanks!!

Re: If you have ever been stalled/at a plateau...

A lot of people find they don't lose much in the 3rd/4th weeks, so you are not alone

Some people have posted that moving to the first rung/level of OWL restarts their losing.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I broke a almost 3 month stall by moving to OWL. Sometimes staying in induction too long can work against you.

Also another way is to change your exercise. Your body can get used to the same routine, sometimes just changing the type of exercises you do can make the difference.

I would love to assist you, but this is like trying to diagnose a car over the phone. If you could put your daily menu on the board or even better, your daily food intake for the last few days from fitday, we could trouble-shoot it for you. We can do this!

Re: If you have ever been stalled/at a plateau...

Been there... post your menu as suggested.

Also, in the past I've taken a look at what I've eaten, etc. I notice, too much cheese or beef will make me stall. I need to change things up with chicken, fish, tuna, eggs. If I get too much in a rut and eat the same things over and over (which I did with cheeseburgers because they were easy) then I'd stall.

Take a look at your inches also, there have been times when I would not see the scale move, but my clothes fit so much better!

Re: If you have ever been stalled/at a plateau...

I found moving to OWL was good for me... particularly the first rungs.
Increasing the amount of cold water I drank helped too.

Re: If you have ever been stalled/at a plateau...

I broke through my plateau by moving to OWL. I didn't have that much to lose to begin with, but I was scared of eating more carbs, but it definitely did the trick. I moved to OWL in my fourth week and lost 3 pounds that week.

Re: If you have ever been stalled/at a plateau...

One thing to remember.. if you are exercising there is really no such thing as a plateau. You improve your body everyday you move it. So you are gaining strength, mobility, future capacities.. energy, a strong heart. Scale doesn't move, who cares? Every day YOU move, you are better and better.

Re: If you have ever been stalled/at a plateau...

Also, Dr. Atkins defined a plateau as 4 weeks without loss of pounds or inches. So if you are losing inches anywhere on your body, you are not in a weight loss plateau.

Moving to OWL is a great idea IF your Induction has really been a truly clean Induction. Posting a daily menu and putting everything in-drinks, snacks, etc. is really the best way for us to give you specific advice.
