  • Starting again after switching meds - need some encouragement

Hi everyone. I started on Atkins in January, as I am stuck with a lot of excess baby weight after having twins. I tried Atkins in 2005 and really enjoyed it compared with 4 years on Weight Watchers.

This time, the weight refused to come off. I think I lost a total of 3 pounds in 3 months, all within the first couple of days of induction. It was crazy, especially seeing people here being very successful.

Anyway, I went to my doctor and had everything tested. He thinks it is most likely my antipressant medication, and he's switching me to one that's less likely to cause weight problems. He didn't say anything negative about Atkins (yay!), and was one of the first doctors to acknowlege that I AM big boned (just not THIS big boned). I'm going to focus on just losing 10 lbs to start (I would love to lose 50lb).

Any encouragement you could offer would be great! I went off of the diet for a few days (feeling sorry for myself), so I'll be re-starting induction.

Welcome to the board and Congrats on the twins!
Just remember to stay strong and don't focus on the scale numbers too much. Remember your body will resculpt itself as you lose weight and the scale sometimes takes a bit to catch up. Stay strong and focused

And don't rely on the concept that you remember how to do it right from last time. Twice I have done an extremely sloppy induction and lost very little, this time I realized I had some tweaking to do with my Induction and I did much better. Having said that I find the weight still comes off a little slower overall than it did the first time.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
