So I'm studying abroad in Europe this summer and I leave June 6th. I'm SOOO excited, but I'm also scared to death! I've lost about 60 pounds on Atkins and I feel so much more prepared to take this trip, physically. But I don't know what I should do about "dieting" overseas.
I'm traveling in a group... we'll be doing A LOT of field work (it is for school after all) and I'm really nervous about the food. Part of me feels like "you can't go to ITALY and not have the pasta... you can't go to Paris and not eat the bread..." you get the idea. sigh...
I just feel like this is a once in a life time opportunity and I should cut myself some slack and just go... enjoy the culture, the people, the food, the traditions... but the other part of me is petrified of gaining back any weight. I mean we'll be walking everywhere we go so I can only imagine how many miles a day that will be - so it's not like I'll be sitting on my behind stuffing cheesecakes down my throat all day. Maybe I'll be ok?
Has anyone else had any experience with this type of thing? What did you do? What WOULD you do?
Thanks guys!
