    cute.

but I think you might get a hard time from the Atkins people. When Tammy was making up her induction list cards, they gave her a hard time. Something about copy rights I think. Not sure. Anyone?

You probably have to pay a royalty or something in order to use the "official" Atkins Symbol.

I remember making stickers for the karate school, and was chastised by someone higher up that the owner of the school had paid big bucks for the franchaise, and you weren't allowed to just reproduce the symbol haphazardly (even though I made the stickers for the owner of the school to use - as a volunteer gesture)

I did a Trademark search. The Atkins symbol itself is a registered trademark. Dr. Atkins is listed and is a live trademark, but Robert C. Atkins is not. Diet Revolution is a dead trademark, originally registered on August 6, 1974, by the Ron T. Kahrer Corp. for a soft drink, it expired due to non-renewal on May 15, 1995. It's always possible there is something in the works that is not in the database. I think copyrights apply to complete works like the full text of the t-shirt and not individual names, but I am not a lawyer. What portion of a complete work is "fair use" is always debateable by lawyers. Since Robert C. Atkins and Diet Revolution are found in the copyrighted book, then the debate would be fair use.

I doubt there would be any problems with making that t-shirt for yourself. Reselling the tshirt could put you up against their lawyers. I wouldn't use the Atkins A on it for sure. The rest might be OK.

In any case, I love it!!! Dr. Atkins did bust the myth of the food pyramid.
Unfortunately, there are still people who believe the world is flat.

looks Great but again there is that getting permission issue. Mrs Atkins might be more incline to allow you to use Dr Atkins name on your shirt then the ANA company but I think the company ownes it per the terms of the sale after he died.

CAn't hurt to contact them and ask.

Slightly alter the logo, Don't really need his name. But on a side note getting the legal stuff aside you could get it by claiming advertising, Im sure the greedy corprate wouldn't mind too much for free advertising at the trade of using the logo and name. Business sometimes pay people to use there logo on cars and such, confront them with the idea and they might agree on that point alone. Or just give them the Idea and they could make the shirts themselves. Theres many routes one can take to get around the legality of things...Talk to a rep and smooth talk them so that they are thinking it was their idea, I don't care about credit I just want that shirt. I love to ruffle anti-atkins dieters feathers a time or two... its fun! :guns

Here is a link to a rough sketch I can't get it to display here. I have two versions one with the TKINS and one without the ladder would cuase people to ask questions, thus giving you the chance to convert them and make a believer. then I thought about the idea of putting this boards URL on there but then I figured we would get a lot of trolls... its a toss up seek permission and put the url on or not....Then maybe make shirts as I go along with like cursive writing that says "Living Proof" or "work in progress" Anyone know if the phonics thing is still copyrighted "Hooked on Atkins worked for me!!!" anywho heres the link. Remember this is a rough diagram:
