  • Cream Cheese

This is my first time posting, but I have been looking at the boards for the last 5 weeks since I started. It has really helped me stay on point and motivated. So far I have a 25lb loss and have been eating pretty much the same foods. I looked at some of Linda's recipes yesterday and decided I wanted to make some. So I went to the grocery store to pick up some plain cream cheese, but every brand I picked up said 1g of sugars. My questions is, can I still use this cream cheese even though it says this?
    Thanks.

    Re: Cream Cheese

Yes, check the ingredient list for added sugars when buying foods - Sugars listed under 'carbohydrates' in the nutritional info can be naturally occuring sugars - such as carbs in veggies.

Hey MaggieMugs....congrats on the weight loss.
I officially restarted back in Jan 2009, but had a mishap for the past several weeks. going back strong now. I agree, it does help a lot when I read the post. I may not reply to many posts, but I do read a lot of them and they do help keep me on track. When i did a back slide this past month, I was not ready the posts on a daily basis. I think I went a month without ready them.
Back to reading and back to doing this the plan.
Good luck with you future success and with trying the recipes out.

          Re: Cream Cheese

Thanks. I didn't purchase it today, and I have noticed that cheese in general seems to stall me, so I am only having it every 2nd day instead of everyday. My husband is eating dinners with me and was never a "vegetable" person, so I wanted to mix things up a bit and "trick" him into eating them.

linda's website is really great!!! i've tried several recipes from there, and just about all i've tried have been wonderful. most of her recipes are very simple and that's a good thing for me because i'm not one for very fancy meals(cooking or eating).

i'm making this one tonight- Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes
i hope i like it, it sounded kinda good, and i happen to get some pork chops at the store last night.

i made this last night and it was really good- Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes
i added some chopped mushrooms also and used mozzerella instead of pepperjack cheese but was still very good.

it's nice that she marks all indution recipes with an * too. makes things alot easier.

congrats on the 25 lbs lost... you should be very proud
well, my timer is sounding to take the pork chops out of the oven. have a great evening, and keep up the good work.

            monie
