  • YEA ~ I Have Finally Broken My Month Long Stall!!!

I just wanted to say Thanks to all who helped with your suggestions a few days ago on how to break my month long stall.

I upped my Fat Intake , Stopped counting my Calories (had been keeping them low) , made sure to get my 3 cups of veggies in per day & it seemed to do the trick!!!

This morning when I weighed~in it was "SMALL" but there "WAS A LOSS"

I was SOOOOOO HAPPY I just had to jump on line & share!!!

Be cautious about retreating back to Induction if you stall during your OWL.

In DANDR 2002 Dr. ATkins writes in the Rules of OWL:

If new foods provoke weight gain, or return of physical symptoms lost during Induction, or increased appetite or cravings, stop them immediately.
          And :

Perhaps you're a victim of an innocent error. It may be that those 5-ram increases in your carbohydrate intake have gotten out of hand and you've done a lot more of them than you think you did. Search your memory, examine exactly what you've been eating over the past five or six days, and compare it to what you were eating a few weeks ago. I've seen people who, once they really put their noses to the carb counter, discovered tyhat it was 30 grams and not 5 or 10 that they had added.
And finally about retreating to Induction at the first sign of trouble. Dr. Atkins discouraged that because it's a form of yo-yo dieting and he had concerns about it screwing up our metabolisms.

Megs~ thanks for your input as well & I will go over all of my food journal's for the last month very carefully again. I did that several days ago & found that I needed to up my Fat Intake as well as my Calories were WAY TOO LOW & Carbs Too High!, so I made adjustments to all 3!!

I do know about adding new foods & removing them if you have a problem with them & have done that in the past.

I feel maybe it will be better being I have backed down on my Daily Carbs to back down the OWL rungs as well rather than go to Extended Induction for now & see if that seems keep to helping with straighten things out !!!

Oh, I didn't know because you didn't respond to my questions in your other thread.

But again, during OWL, it's better to see what can be fixed on OWL than it is running back to Induction. See, sometimes it's not a single food, but a combination of foods. Or it can be sloppy food measurements or even inappropriate food ingredients that can do you in.

Megs ~ thanks once again for your imput!!! I also have to pick one fix & stay with it for at approx 2 weeks to see if it works, as I know Dr A says not to resort yo-yo fixes either, as that will only hurt my metabolism further!!!
