  • How do I get back in ketosis?

I had surgery a week ago and went out of ketosis from lack of eating... I literally was so sick I barely could get 1 meal down of atkins approved soup.

Finally I am up to eating but still on atkins approved soups and soft foods because my face and teeth still hurt very badly. I am not eating the fat though that I need to but trying to get it back there.

Do I just go back on induction to put myself back into ketosis?? I will be so glad when I heal from this surgery.

So, I guess your surgery went fine? That's good to hear.

If you only ate a meal of soup per day, then you must be still in ketosis. If you aren't, it's probably the medication that kicked you out of ketosis, not the lack of eating.

Anyway, yes, if you go back to Induction, you will get back in ketosis. But some of your current medication (any?) might make this more difficult.

Take a Tblsp of olive oil direct to get your fats back up. Just swallow a T or 2...it doesn't taste bad and it will get the fats into your system.

Er... I'd rather drizzle it on a soup. Or mix a soft boiled egg with some melted butter.
