I made myself a chef salad tomorrow for lunch with Marie's dressing. The dressing is fine. But, I have Margherita Genoa Salami cut into the salad. I know a lot of times salami is cured with sugar. I'm just wondering if anybody has any input on this.

Is the one you have cured with sugar?Originally posted by TheMasterMind776 View PostI know a lot of times salami is cured with sugar.
It's impossible to say how it will affect you.I'm just wondering if anybody has any input on this.
I would use some unprocessed meat instead... not only for weight loss reasons."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: Chef Salad
I did a google search on Margherita Genoa Salami and it says 0 carbs 0 sugar. But, I am worried about the fine print which I couldn't see on the website to see if it was cured with sugar. A friend bought a pound for me and I don't want to throw it out, but I also don't want to eat it if its going to cause stalls.SW 226/ CW 219/ GW 190 SD 3.6.10

It's the list of ingredients that tells the tale.
I would bet that there's some form of sugar involved. I can't say that I've ever seen one that isn't.
And it's still a processed meat ... which should be limited.
I wouldn't make it a regular part of my eating ... but I wouldn't throw it out.J.

Re: Chef Salad
The Genoa Salami in my fridge has dextrose as its third ingredient but listed as zero carbs for 30 gr (1 oz)
Limited is probably how I would go too.
