  • Food For Thought To Any One That Has Fallen~Off During The Holiday Season !!!

I just wanted to pass along a little "food for thought" to any one that has fallen~off the Atkins Train over the Holiday Season, to help you continue along your Atkins Journey !!!

If it helps at all I have been in Pre~Maint since Aug bringing my final clothing size from an 18/20 to an 8/10 !!!

However I have been very sick with an Upper & Lower Resp Infection since the 1st of Dec & due to having Lupus my Immune System is pretty much Shot !!!

I have been in the Hospt for over a week right before Xmas & see the Dr again tomorrow.

Due to having to take Steroid's just to be able to breath & Nertontin to help with the body pain of the Full Blown Lupus Flare Iam now In I have GAINED almost "20 POUNDS" back as the major side effect of both is WEIGHT GAIN !!!

I at 1st went into a very deep depression, but after talking to an older friend of mine, kinda like a second Mother to me. Iam bound & determined NOT to let ot BEAT me. I have lost the weight (60 pounds total) once & I will do it again. No more Inhailers, High Blood Pressure or Type II Diabetes Med's AGAIN for me !!!

Iam sticking to my WOE Plan even though I have to still keep taking these awfull meds & I will see my way back to Pre~Maint & Maint again !!!

The Hardest Part is that my one year anniversary will be on the 1st of the year & I was soooooo looking forward to being in Pre~Maint then !!!

So long Story Short think of how far that you have come to this point, how many other's you can help get to where you are now/in the future & where you will be this time next year!!!

WE JUST HAVE TO STAY STRONG & JUMP BACK ON THE ATKINS TRAIN TO CONTUNUE OUR LIFE LONG RIDE FOR OUR GOOD HEALTH. REMEMBER OUR FAMILIES ARE COUNTING ON US TO DO SO !!!

    ~Cindi~

PS: Just changing my "3" back to a "2" a few sec's ago was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do !!!

I hope you're doing much better now! That was a very inspiring post, and I have every faith in you that you will do it. It's not as if you've fallen back into old habits, and it's essential that you remember that - this is due to medical circumstances, far beyond your control.

Well done on your progress so far, and good luck on the rest of your journey

You just gave me the AFFIRMATION I needed to go ahead and start AGAIN - which I just emailed a friend I was gonna do tomorrow! And she is starting it for the first time after New Year's! I am 57, have hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, Type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis, and high blood pressure - but THEY DON'T HAVE ME! (I love that statement!!). I previously lost 100 pounds with this WOL, but let myself believe I could eat like everybody else, and continue to lose the 50 more I need to lose. Of course, it didn't happen, and of course, I regained about 40 of those pounds! But I am ready to feel good again, and I am ready to look good in my clothes again (and I am ready to hear those compliments again!). Thank you for posting this! Be strong - and I will be too!!
sigpicIt's never too late to be what you might have been!

              SW/CW/GW - 324/271 (After losing down to 224 one year ago!) /171

              Starting over Jan. 10, 2010!
I can do this!!! I HAVE done this. I will do this. It is done!!!
