  • Pork Rind Breading

Had someone tell me the other day that you can take pork rinds, grind or crush them into a semi powder and use them as breading for fried foods resulting in breaded fried foods with no carbs.

Anyone try this? And, what were your results?

    Thanks,

    forbey

I love it! It gives me that desired crunch that I sometimes need.
You can also try using the parm. cheese that comes in that plastic container, dip your <whatever> into egg and then coat it with the cheese and cook it, turns crispy and oh so delicious!

One of my favorites is using pork rinds to coat green beans and fry them, mmmm!!!

Give it a try, good luck!

I have made chicken parmesan using the pork rinds and it turned out great. I crushed the pork rinds my little chopper, then added parsley, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese and mixed it all together.

I also have used the pork rinds for my mozzarella sticks that I have made. They were delicious!

I like to buy either chicken tenders or thin pork chops, dip them in a beaten egg, then into finely crushed BBQ pork rinds, and fry them on the stove. Soooo good and crunchy!

I don't use them a lot because the sodium is pretty high but I crush them and use them for mozz. sticks and chicken tenders. Now that I have a food processor they get super fine, perfect breading after an egg wash.

                  Re: Pork Rind Breading

I've tried this just a few times, and it never seems to come out right for me. Seems like it either falls off, burns up, isn't crispy, whatever. I'm obviously doing something wrong, LOL!

Good thing I like stuff just fine without the "breading" - though having an option would be nice if I could cook it right.

                    Re: Pork Rind Breading

Your oil temp is probably wrong. If it's too hot the breading will burn, if it's too cool the breading will get mushy or fall off. I don't check the actual temp of mine I just let it heat on high until I can drop a small piece of pork rind in and it instantly starts sizzling. Then I lower the temp to medium and cook my food. Comes out perfect.
