All I know is the cat's in trouble no matter how Schrodinger cut it, and he's cleaning the box eventually. No hard feelings, I hope! You guys can get me later.

It was English and Linguistics in college with minors in French and Social Anthropology (I didn't make it all the way through college however). Which, plus $5 will buy you a loca mocha grande at Starbucks.

            Thanks for the kind words.

I wondered which thread would be the 'April fool' one that got many of us this year
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I don't understand this vine. April 1st or not, there are people here who are really struggling with these issues. I'm fortunate in that I have no sweet tooth, but just reading the first 2 pages of this could have triggered something in someone. I can almost understand mocking people who actually come to the board asking such a silly question, but for those who are honestly struggling, I hope reading the first three pages was not harmful. I think this was just mean.

                      mutantmom:

I can see your point. Some people definitely have food addictions due to their physiological / genetic /psychological make up. All though in jest, jokes can sometimes back fire and cause great harm.

I myself never had problems with sweets. In fact, when I eat cake or what not, it tastes horrible, even metallic to me.

I've never really struggled with a weight issue. I body-build but the reason I come to this forum is because I advocate a low carb lifestyle. The reason I do not subscribe to any body-building forums is because their maniacal use of any substance that promises to enhance muscle mass, their use of anabolic steroids, growth hormones and estrogen blockers.

The body-building forums are full of discrepancies, pertaining to diet, exercise and drug use.

This forum should be focused really only on one point: to support and encourage each other and teach newbies the proper way to manage the Atkins lifestyle.

Although the original thread was witty, I must admit, you are right. We should take this forum seriously.

With my post number here (8600), the fact that I'm a former mod, and with my presence on the web (blog with just over 900,000 pageviews), I assumed more would know I was up to no good and would just say, "Oh, that's just cleo!"

My apologies for hurting anyone's feelings! I figured people would catch the clues right away.

I think we sometimes take things too seriously.

I mean c'mon, sprinkles are OK becase they make her sun shine brighter so they must be loaded with vitamin D?

Who can read that and think "hmmmm, maybe sprinkles ARE OK!"?

I see nothing wrong with lightening things up occasionally with a fun goofy thread.

Hey Cleo, We all need to laugh a little and your thread sure didn't bother me. A sweets were MY BIGGEST PROBLEM.

Besides sweets, desserts, chocolate, alcohol, snacks, and all that are mentioned in so many of the posts everyday, and those posts can be tempting too. Aren't we all struggling every day?

I feel offended when people post here about cheating and defending it, and those doing their own way of Atkins and saying it's ok. That bothers me, and goes against everything I have done in my life related to eating since August. But it's ok for them to do say it, open forum and all that. I have to deal with their ideas that it is ok to cheat or eat their own way. If I let those post influence my life, I need more help than losing weight.

If hearing a few jokes here about eating sweets is going to be a problem, what's going to happen the next time they go out to someone's house or out to dinner and are faced with temptations and well meaning friends and relatives pushing food at them that they do not want. Or someone's Birthday at the office. Girl Scouts at the door selling cookies. It is a real world out there, and we all have to deal with it. Not talking about food and sweets is not going to make the problem go away.

IMHO, I do not feel this thread is mocking anyone, in fact it really did the opposite...I think it reinforced our drive to stay on plan. I think the message was more positive in a fun way. Have a great day everyone and don't forget to laugh!

I thought this thread was very cute and having had an eating disorder in the past, I know my triggers. If I even see anything in a title of a post that will trigger me, I don't read it. It's that simple.

This post came from a light hearted and honestly giggly place with no ill intent. No apologies allowed!

                                Best Wishes!
