  • Another myth bites the dust

Eggs aren't so bad, after all, say the "experts" (who probably condemned them in the past).
People’s Pharmacy: An egg a day may not be linked to stroke or heart disease - latimes.com

(For the past two months, for breakfast I have had 3 eggs and 75 g Hellman's real mayo. Fantastic! Believe me, if eggs could kill, I'd have been dead long ago.)

(PS I tried to correct the word "bits" in the thread title to "bites", but to no avail.)

''People vary in their response to eggs, so it is important to monitor blood lipid levels. Those with diabetes should exercise particular caution, since studies suggest eggs do raise their risk for heart disease.''

there still complete retards if you ask me and you can't ignore how they slam 2 halfs of toast right by there eggs in the picture trying there best to make eggs unhealthy

if a type 2 diabetic ate 2 halfs of toast a day they would die unless they had drugs to keep them alive and thats why the health and drug system loves to make people sick with junk food

Re: Another myth bites the dust

The anti-fat message was (and still is) so widespread and so widely accepted, those who oppose it (who in fact know that it is an outright lie) are regarded by the obese not as saviors and examples to be emulated, but as dangerous villains.

Even though I have lost a pile of weight eating a pile of fat, some obese members of my extended family think I'm crazy. They've been on WW for years and haven't lost a pound for more than a month at a time. Yet THEY look at ME and think that I'm crazy.

But the only thing that is really important is that I've finally learned how to eat a remarkable amount of delicious food that is oozing with fat, never be hungry, sleep like a baby, have energy to burn, and not only not gain a pound, but continue to lose pounds.

ya i remember there was other high fat, low carb diets in the past before atkins that people made cause they found them to work good and such but when the health care system and its doctors found out about it they horribly bashed them saying they were the equivalent of mass murder

          Male, 60, 6'6", Day 184, 301\233/225

I am almost certain that fat behaves like a drug in the body.

About a month ago there was a local sale on Macademia nuts, so we bought several pounds of them. Other than a nice load of fibre, these nuts practically nothing but a solid form of fat.

When I finish supper, my caloric intake for the day is a total of about 2200. A couple of hours after that, I eat 100 grams of Macademia nuts, bringing total calories very close to 3000.

The effect of those nuts is astonishing. An hour or so after eating them, I begin to feel drowsy. That progresses to the point that I simply must go to bed - usually around 1030 to 11. My head hits the pillow and I'm asleep in under two minutes. I get a better night's sleep than a corpse.

In the morning, after visiting the bathroom, I weigh myself. Almost invariably, I have lost a sizeable fraction of a pound.

After eating the nuts, I am almost certain that when my body senses the presence of such a huge load of fat, it does two things. First, it begins to preferentially burn body fat rather than the fat in the gut. Second, it passes the nuts through the digestive system and "expels" them, without using their energy. (Not to elaborate too much, suffice it to say that I have observed evidence of the second.)

Again, I believe the consumption of high levels of fat causes the body to behave in a very remarkable, healthy fashion.

im glad nuts are haveing a positive effect on you

for me however i can't seem to eat them at all they make me feel crappy and they cause stomach problems i also can't handle to much fiber in my diet and im allergic to coconut so the fat sources i handle best are animal based chicken eggs and unsalted butter are my favourite

but most the nuts they sell at stores are old and can even have a rancid one mixed in with the others so i do wonder if i was able to get fresh and properly prepared nuts if my body would beable to eat them and feel ok

Trail Mix - Natural Healthy Snack Full of Essential Oils, Organic Nutrients and Antioxidants
this link shows some and how nicely they prepare them and so its easier on your body to absorb them and such

but also my stomach is very picky when it comes to alot of foods i can't eat any starches or dairy sept for cheese because i have IBS however i never suffer from the IBS at all as long as i stick to atkins but also avoid some of the rungs like rung 6 and 8 and maybe others im also lactose intolerant but i heard people who are lactose intolerant can alot of the time handle raw milk but raw milk is illegal to be sold here =/

also the fact that i have IBS makes it easier to stick to the atkins diet 100% everyday cause when ever i go off the diet i get sick as a dog

Too bad you have IBS. Are you eating psyllium husk, by any chance? I understand that it helps IBS tremendously.

Macadamias aren't allowed on Induction. No nuts on Induction.

i don't suffer from IBS at all anymore not even one tiny bit unless i eat a food thats bad for it and if i eat a really bad food like a potato starch then bam it hits hard but really i forgot i even had IBS for years cause thats how good i eat to prevent it from causeing me any harm

also i never suffer from IBS-C which is constipation which then psylilium husk may be useful for

as far as food hurting my stomach heres a quick % wise thing so you get some idea

                  eggs 0%
                  butter 0%
                  most types of cheese 0%
red meat prepared good like steak and ground beef 0%
red meat prepared medium like semi over cooked like a roast 5%
red meat prepared really bad and really over cooked and dry'd out like left in a crock pot for too long 30-100% (rarely happens)
mostly same idea for other meats as well

raspberries 1.5% (i know they have fiber but they just don't cause problems)
                  blueberries 2.5%
                  fiber 10%
                  zucchini 40%
                  spaghetti squash 60%
nuts prepared decently 65% (have never tried super good ones before though from that dr mercola site)
                  oats 75%
                  tomato 75%
                  avocado 75%
nuts 100-400% (depends if any are rancid in the pack)
                  mayo 100%
                  canola oil 125%
                  beans 150%
                  whipping cream 200%
                  sour cream 400%
coconut 800% (cause im allergic to it)
                  sweet potato 1000%

basically it needs to reach 25% for me to even notice it and 75% for me to start feeling a little discomfort from the IBS i can also handle eating fiber just as long as i don't eat too much for example when i eat broccoli i dont eat any of the stems and just the broccoli florets the florets still have a tiny bit of fiber but nothing like the stems but i can handle the florets 100% easily

back years ago when my stomach was damaged before the atkins diet healed it i could not eat any food with out it causeing atleast some discomfort and foods with any % rateing from the list there would cause pain but now that its healed i can actually figure out what foods hurt it and what foods don't

also lately i have been wondering if by takeing these

if with them good probiotics they would let me eat more fiber like vegetables in large amounts like lots of zucchini and spinage with out geting any discomfort
